do yo like best?!

OK, FI and I have found 2 BM dress we like on the internet. We are having a black/white wedding and using scarlet red as an accent colors for some of the flowers etc. So....which BM dress do you like best?

I like them both but for different reasons. The 1st one b/c it includes black AND white but I never thought that I wouldn''t be the only one in WHITE. Not that big of a deal, since it''s mainly black...but ya..

Or....BM dress #2. This is FI''s favorite and my Mom''s. FI likes this one bc of the satin ribbon detail/trim. Says it adds a great touch a elegance, which we are going for. PLUS there''s NO WHITE. So i''d be the only one in WHITE. hehe...

Sorry I couldn''t save this pic...but here''s the URL:

When I first showed my Mom the two options she was like "In THAT length?" I said yes Mother I like tea length dresses and explained to her this is becoming more common and *in* for weddings now. She was just surprised and said she''s never seen anything but long dresses at weddings. Hehe...I really like them personally! Plus I think they''re more likely to wear them again out.

So what do ya''ll think?!

I like #2... Are you thinking about getting you BMs opinions? They''re the ones who will wear them after all.

I vote #2. I agree with your FI that it looks more elegant.

I love tea-length gowns for this very reason. They''re much more re-wearable than long BM dresses.

Oh, and #2, hands down. So cute!

Oh ya I''m definitley getting their opinion. I got the info for local bridal shops that carry these two syle''s to find out the cost first. I don''t want to show them a dress that they fall for and then find out it''s out of the price range.

After that I''ll email to see what they think.

Thanks for all the responses so far...I meant to add this question too.

My wedding dress is strapless and I was originally wanting to have the BM dress contrast in something not strapless. Do you think this really matters?! I know it''s not THAT big of a deal....

definitely #2- it looks a bit more elegant and feminine

imo, the all black would also be something they'd be more likely to wear again.

i love the tea length as well,
what do your bm's think?

eta, i am not one to think the bm dresses need to be the same style as the bride, but that is just me.
i have seen it where it happens to be the case, and i think it is lovely.
but if your girls end up with something different, i think that's fine too.

I like #2. #1 looks very bridesmaid-ish..

Just a little note on tea length dresses. I loooved them in ads.. and thought I had my heart set on them, but once I saw them in person.. they were just a little too cute and not formal enough for me..but it all depends on the style of your wedding, i guess...

Count me in for #2 as well, very classy!

Another vote for #2... very pretty! I''ve attached a pic of it. I love tea length as well. I don''t think the BMs need to match or not match the neckline of your dress...IMO that''s not something that people pay attention to.

Hate to say it...but Mom is right LOL! I really like that second dress, very classy rather than cutesy. I think it''s fine to both be in strapless dresses, especially since their dresses are short and yours is long.

#2 gets my vote as well. It''s classic and elegant, and certainly a dress that can be worn again. Love it!!

Thanks for adding it Lizzie!

Well, I''m a little surprised that everyone''s vote has been dress #2, but I think it''s the one too. Just hope it''s not too $$$.

Talked to 1 of 4 BM''s and she likes #2 best too! So yay! 3 to go.

i like the all black dress, it is very Audrey Hepburn to me. As for the neckline, it is fine for it to be the same or similar, I just think it can look funny when they are so different...meaning, you are in a high necked more covered up traditional gown and the bm''s are in strapless...then it looks like to opposing styles and does not mesh well to me...

love number 2! that was one of my abs fave bm dresses

I too vote for dress #2...but to add my 2c worth, why not accent it with white - meaning like white "pearl" necklaces and bracelets...just a thot...
All the best! :}

Aw, I LOVE this idea!! I hadn't thought about their jewelry yet! YAY! So exciting!!

OK, now I've talked with 2 of 4 BM's and they both LOVE #2! Yippee...2 to go!

I like #2 as well...seems reusable also!

We're doing black cocktail dresses for BM dresses, hopefully in this style from Eden bridals(the ribbon can be any color). It's under $150, so the price is right too, and I really want them to want to rewear their dresses (plus it's an evening wedding, so even though our colors are not black and white, they will not look out of place).

I say hopefully b/c they have not yet tried it on and while 3 of my BMs like it (two "love it") we have yet to see what it's like on:

I like #2 better. #1 looks akward from behind.

Definitely #2. It''s a gorgeous cut, and the ribbon detail (in the same color) is a great touch. I think #1 is too bridesmaid-y, like some others have said. It also looks a bit bulky with the white accent fabric -- could be unflattering And for sure your bridesmaids wouldn''t be able to wear #1 again.

As for the contrasting necklines, I agree with Diamondfan, I think that coordinating necklines look much better than contrasting necklines. If you''re wearing a strapless, I think the optimal choice for your bridesmaid dress would be strapless as well. I have a non-strapless wedding dress and I am looking for a bridesmaid dress in the same type of top (halter) so that they mesh well together.

Definitely #2!! It''s so classy and cute at the same time!

Rose: Another vote for #2, but I also really like the one that SP posted!

I only had a MOH and she wore a black, tea length chiffony dress from Nordstrom. She''s very busty and there was NO WAY that she could wear a strapless dress (to mirror mine), so she chose something with a square-ish neckline and cap sleeves. It looked nice alongside my dress.

Thanks everyone for ya''lls vote''s for #2! I really love it too!

I called 2 local bridal shops in my area that carry this line and it''s more than I was hoping for. The cheaper of the two is $198. I think it''s worth it, and the one BM I was worried most about was expecting $300. But they still have to do shoes too....so it will be close to $300.

Is $198 for the dress A LOT or too much!?!? I''m going to continue looking, but I really like this one.

House of Brides has it for $140

http://www.houseofbrides.com/product.php?productid=1818&xid=ddc8b346108d30bd2ab7bfc6940023e6

I love it! In fact I just emailed the link to my friend who I'm the MOH for.

$140 is less than I expect when I agree to be a bridesmaid. $200 is maybe a little more, but I wouldn't be shocked by it either.

I found that like earlier MA and liked the big price drop. I have my concerns about it as well. Why is it so much cheaper? How will my BM know what size...etc. Ya know?

Any tailor or seamstress should be able to do measurements, I heard some charge but it''s probably nominal.

Then, drats, I can''t remember where I came across this online once, but I swear one of the discount online places had several manufacturer size charts so you could figure out what size match your measurements.

Also, have you checked the website for pearlsplace.com
I understand they are a "brick and mortar" store that also does a huge online biz.
They would probably be able to help you.

good luck!
