Hi all,

I am looking to buy some small but well cut accent diamons for a project I''m doing.
I don''t mind if they are modern or old cut, would likely prefer old cut but equally happy with modern.

I only need two or so, in about 5 or ten pointers, maybe 15 tops. I have done a cursory search of WF and GOG but no dice.

Any good suggestions? I''m also open to ebay finds if anyone''s up for the hunt.

Many thanks in advance
AJ.

Generally the jeweler doing the project sources the stones. They''d likely be able to buy them for less than you would anyway.

Hi DS. Yeah I realize that, however she lives in Thailand and only works in CS (from what I''ve seen).
I''m sure she can source them, but I am picky about my diamond cuts.

I have never personally bought from any of these vendors, but here are some that sell small diamonds:

This maybe the same site as above: http://www.gemsforu.com/axproducts.aspx?gi=1&s=melee

Thanks poshpepper, I will look into those.

I Think I am going to see if I can source some vintage stones in that size.

Well, if you really want some old cuts... I believe JBEG can source some OEC melee ;)

However I think they can only source it in parcels...

Hey AJ - if JBEG doesn''t work out for old cut, try Wink (for the modern)

Good suggestion, thankyou.
I have found a matched pair of 14 point ideal cuts on ebay (for a good price), but seeing as my centre stone is an umbalite garnet (and not a diamond), I''m not sure if ideal cuts will overshadow it..?

Ah well, we will see.

I am going to ask the age old question, are you sure they are "ideal"? I''ve noticed a lot of ebay sellers calling things ideal which are not really ideal...
