Hi CS experts! My cousin is coming to visit us and asked what we wanted lol the only thing we wanted was Jade from Singapore. She doesn't know where to go. Do you have any suggestions we could check out? My sister wants a Jade donut pendant and possibly a bangle. TIA

Edit to add that our budget is low so nothing high end. But as long as it's grade A Jade we're happy.

I haven’t bought from here but they sell some Jade

I’ve bought a sapphire from this vendor many years ago. He’s got jadeite at times

@Crimson will be able to tell us more! She’s the Singaporean gem expert!

Thank you so much!! I'm following Asiatique on IG so I'll ask my cousin to check them out. I'm actually so excited we get to meet her family! Thank you for the recommendations.

@maryjane04 what fun! You made a great choice.
Thanks, @mellowyellowgirl for recommending Asiatique. The owner Wriston does have pocket friendly jadeite pieces, more now that Chinese New Year is coming! I am on good terms with him.
Another two places which I have never bought from but are reputable are.
Yokdee https://www.yokdee.com/en-sg/collections/donuts
Li Hong Jade https://www.lihongjade.com/?gad_sou...MI_Mb3k8DoigMVkRWDAx1kQziMEAAYASAAEgIeAvD_BwE
My fav jadeite shop is On Cheong at South Bridge Road, a short walk from Yokdee. On Cheong may look expensive and forbidding but do have affordable items. I think they have the widest selection of jadeite in Singapore. Unfortunately their annual sale just ended! But your cousin may be able to-use my “mate’s rate’ for some discount there. I am one of their fav customers - haha.
If you don’t mind, please share with me your price range so can make better shop recommendations.
Hope your cousin will have fun shopping for you and your sister.

Thank you so much for your recommendations @Crimson .. I'll forward them to my cousin. Jade in Australia is very disappointing so I'm so excited for my cousin to be able to bring us something. I'm hoping for a pendant and bangle each around $700 SGD. Do you think that's possible?

@maryjane04 Australia has so many awesome features and places! Pity about jadeite
For SGD700, your cousin may be able to get a petite yet nice item from Asiatique or Li Hong. https://www.lihongjade.com/
It might be helpful to be a bit more flexible – for example, not just a doughnut but some other nicely shaped pendant.

Yokdee has items in your desired shape and price.
You could get a reasonably nice doughnut or “bi” for $700. It’s hard. to find a fairly nice bangle for SGD700. The thing I don’t like about Yokdee is that they use the term imperial green inappropriately.
All the shops I’ve mentioned above will be able to have the items certified at a local lab for a fee. If your cousin is willing, it might be worth carrying a loupe and a bright light that she can use to examine the goods. If she’s not familiar with jadeite, please share my thread on Evaluating Jadeite
Another tip: if the shop charges goods and services tax I(GST) your cousin may be able to claim the tax back at the airport. Just make sure that the amount of GST is clearly stated on the receipt. On Cheong reminds their overseas customers of this as a matter of good customer service. I hope your cousin will have a chance to visit On Cheong, and see all their lovely jadeite and other jewelry. The staff are not pushy because they do not earn commissions.
I don’t recommend Desiree - I have seen their stuff. More don’t s - do not buy from street stalls, pop-up stores, kiosks inside shopping malls. There are lots of fakes and simulants. Please also avoid buying from jewelry counters at department stores. Most of the staff don’t know Jade. I’ve seen some presenting nephrite as jadeite.

Thank you so much @Crimson I have referred these places to my cousin. She will have fun shopping. I kinda feel bad but jealous haha. And I really appreciate the tip about claiming the GST back. Anything to help our tiny budgets!

The GST is 9%! Not a small proportion. Hope she will have a ball :appl:

I'm on the yokdee website and there's some nice stuff in there!! I'm so jealous I can't go shopping with her. Thank you for all your tips. I'll send her to On Cheong first.
