Where to buy in Chicagoland?

Hi,

I happened upon this site after a google search, read some of the topics and there seems to be a TON of info on this forum. Not sure if anyone could help me or if this is the right place to post it but worth a shot since I'm lost on buying jewelry.

I relocated to Chicago not to long ago so I know there are plenty of places to buy jewelry other then the normal mall jewelers.

My issue: I wanted to get my gf some earrings for our 1 year anniversery (of dating). I was hoping to get some diamond stud earrings in the price range of 700-1k. I know in diamond terms that maybe not a lot of money but I'm still afraid of buying complete junk.
Should I just buy from a retail outlet? Should I go somewhere on Jewelers Row? Should I buy a pair online? (Which online stores are the best anyways??)

Time Frame: Basically I need to find something by May 21st.

Side Note: I am an IT consultant so I do have an S-Corp and a Business EID so maybe there is a wholesale place I could go also?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Welcome to Pricescope.

Go for a triple Play...look up Dimend Scaasi. Though maybe they stopped advertising here...they used to, I think are on Jeweler''s Row, and do have/have had a web presence...and know about quality pieces.
 
I have talked on the online chat thinger with Lexi from Dimend Scaasi and thought she was wonderful, very knowledgeable and all-around pleasant.

my brain is going to explode! lol i''ve read many different posts on the site today and man... waaaay too much to absorb and i''m only thinking about a small purchase. I can just see the craziness i will have to go thru when I have to find an ering.

i''m sure my best bet is getting some earrings from an online vendor and from what I gather bluenile, gog, jamesallen, and whiteflash seem to be the good ones.

I do think i''m going to get a 3 prong martini setup..prob .75ctw range (possibly platinum).


I guess the fact my GF is petite helps the diamonds look bigger is in my favor lol
 
WF carries stones in-house and cuts most of their inventory. They hand select the stones in earrings. I have more confidence in buying earrings from them, personally. I think princess cuts are a little awkward for earlobes, and they also will appear a bit smaller than rounds. But if she ahs specifically asked for princess, then by all means get what she wants!
 
yea i like the round ones better too and since it is a surprise and not her picking it, it is probably the safest route lol.

James Allen and WF both have .50 ctw studs in the range and looks like same ratings on the diamonds though just browsing this site people seem to go to WF alot and be very happy.
 
Just ordered the .50 ctw 3prong martini from WF.. hope the GF likes'm (though i'm thinking diamonds during just dating might be a bad trend to start! lol) but i guess if she can handle my xbox addiction she deserves it!
