Where to buy gemstone jewelry in Houston?

Hi all, one of my guy friends needs to buy his GF some jewerly for her b-day. He wants to get her a sapphire ring, or sapphire earrings... I would suggest online of course... but he needs them ASAP b/c her b-day is in a few short days. Any suggestions of B&Ms with decent gemstone (esp. sapphire) selection? He''s supposed to be saving for "the ring" too, so he doesn''t want to spend more than about $250-$300 on this gift.
