Where to begin?

I've spent the past few weeks on this forum trying to learn as much as I possibly could about diamonds, and how to pick the right one and I have to say I'm more confused than I was when I began. I'm ready to make a purchase now, but I would like someone to point me in the right direction. I want a ring for daily wear that is unique and modern and edgy in style. I love the marquise cut and I would appreciate suggestions on where to look. Thanks in advance.
