Thank you for your kind comments Sara. You are in fact covered for the first year and will be offered the opportunity to renew that insurance after your year is up.Date: 10/4/2009 9:37:36 AM

Both Blue Nile and JA are reputable.
I agree with the previous posters re Blue Nile and JA, and would add...
Blue Nile''s settings seem expensive to me for the quality.
JA -- good selection of reasonably priced settings. I like how they offer their settings in a variety of metals (platinum, 14 kt and 18 kt gold). They do provide IS, but sometimes you have to request them, which can slow down your purchasing process. My biggest beef with them is with their H&A stones -- make sure if you are looking at one of these that they provide hearts images and that the hearts images show that the stone is truly H&A. Otherwise, don''t spend the extra money for H&A, stick with their AGS ideal and GIA ex stones
I purchased a stone from JA, and sent it back because the stone was sold as H&A, even though (at the time) they did not provide hearts images. I felt I didn''t get what I paid for. They now provide hearts images on their H&A stones so they have addressed this issue.
JA''s customer service is good, but if upgrading is important to you, other companies have less restrictive upgrade policies.
I bought two Crafted by Infinity stones from Wink at High Performance Diamonds. I have been very happy with the beauty and quality of Infinity stones, and the customer service from Wink. Wink is now making my setting (stock settings and custom design available). My Infinity came with a great buyback policy (80%) and upgrade/trade-in policy (which I''ve already taken advantage of -- it was painless). In addition, all Infinity stones come with one year''s worth of insurance. I believe Wink also told me that my setting is insured for a year -- have to double check on that.
Look at the Testimonials forum on Pricescope for other consumer reviews of vendors. You will find that the vendors who post/advertise on Pricescope have good reputations and satisfied customers. Individual posters, like me, can give you our advice/experience, but in the end, if you are clear about your priorities (e.g., cost savings, customer service, carat size, proximity to a vendor, etc.) and you do you research not only on what the vendor sells (stones and settings) but also their customer service, return policies, trade-in, buy-back, etc., you can''t go wrong with any of the vendors you read about here. Choose the one that most closely matches your priorities.
