Where can you buy Tiffany Novo look alike settings? Just looking at other options besides tiffany before I make a final decision!

You people on here are making me second guess my tiffany purchase! But Tiffany is still the front runner.

ALSO ....

I''ve not seen any replica that looks exactly like the real novo. if that is what she wants and it''s in your budget, get her the Tiffany one.

I agree!!! You can''t go wrong with Tiffany...

My friend is selling a 3.5 - 3 stone ring that he never gave to his FI. I was thinking of buying it for a low price and doing the following:

- Mounting the 2.5 center diamond on a tiffany like ring that I would purchase somewhere.
- selling the 2 side pear diamonds which are .50 each

This would be slightly less money, and no taxes. And over 1c bigger.

I think the center diamond is a D or F .....

or get her the 1.24 novo from Tiffany .... NOT SURE WHAT TO DO!!!! HELP!

what ring do you think she would want?

a second hand ring with a larger stone or the real Tiffany Novo?

over a ct. bigger??? ummmm... buy it!!! Tiffany is nice if you have money to throw away. The name isn't worth the extra money to me. I'd rather have the bigger rock!!! GL!

p.s. whiteflash could do it!

p.p.s. don't tell her that you got it from a buddy who didn't end up proposing. you probably wouldn't but... just sayin'.

How much do you know about your friend''s stone? I would definitely want to see the certification so you have more information about the cut before considering it as an option.

How does your girlfriend feel about a larger size vs. the Tiffany name? Both are great sizes, btw.

New England Lady -

He paid 44K for it 8 months ago in london from Cool Diamonds. cooldiamonds.com - Fabienne three stone ring (design 10) on the website.

The ring has a 2.5c Center Stone and 1 pear diamond on each side weighing .50c, totaling 3.5c. The actual ring is Platinum. All diamonds are E - VVS2. That is all I know about it.

I think the ring could be bad karma, so that is why I would sell the 2 side diamonds and keep the center and mount it on a different setting.

I do like the 1.24c Tiffany ring. I don''t know if it will look big on her hand - she is in between a 6 and 6.5. There is also a 1.30 - but the women said you can not tell the difference between the size.

Do you think a 1.24 will look big on her hand? The first path seems like a lot of work and time to get it reset, etc.

Decisions, Decisions .......

Hmm, it doesn''t seem that their diamonds come with certifications--E,VVS2 is a great color and clarity, but if there is no informatoin about the cut (depth%, table%, pavillion angle, etc.), then I wouldn''t consider it.

I think a 1.24 carat stone would look great on her hand, but do you know what she prefers? Have you gone ring shopping with her? How does she feel about Tiffany versus a non-branded ring?

ditto. also, the novo is a square cushion and has a different look from a round. some ladies would take the smaller fancy shape over a bigger round while others would choose the larger round. you need to find out which shape she would prefer.

I believe Good Old Gold has a setting either called the Gabrielle or made by a company called Gabrielle that looks a lot like the Novo.

I understand your frustration about what to do. Here is my 2 cents. If you don''t want to do the homework get the Tiffany, seriously you can''t go wrong there. If you want to spend the time and effort 1) check out your friend''s stone, get the certificate and everyone here will give you honest opinions. If the stone is a stinker, and you really put some time and effort into it you can get a much better deal with people on here.

I have a Tiffany 5 stone wedding band, and honestly I like having the name. It will hold it''s value and I like being able to service it and clean it at the store.

BUT, I am upgrading to a 2.4 ct solitaire and at that size, we are talking a 20-30K difference in price. So no way will I get a Tiffany. You just have to decide what is important to you.

One last thing, has your FI to be tried on the Novo? Rings you ''think'' you want can change based on how they look on your hand.

A ring is a ring. I''m sorry but rings don''t have bad "karma" unless you create it in your mind. It sounds like you might get a really good deal on the ring from your friend. But you do need to know a little more about the center stone. It either needs a lab certificate, or you need some kind of independent appraisal. But I would not take that ring apart! A round with pear sides is gorgeous, and the ring is new, never worn. You''d likely get very little for the setting and side stones.

I do agree that it is best for you to know whether she''d prefer a small Tiffany or a large other ring. A 1.24 in a Novo is probably going to appear smaller than a round at that size.

Just got engaged two weeks ago. i purchased my stone and setting from BN. It is a round brilliant 1.61 G VS2 AGSL 000 in BN''s Noveau setting which is the closest I could find without actually going with Tiffanys Novo. She is extremely happy with her engagement ring and our friends and families seemed to be impressed with it as well. Hope that helps you in your search ! good luck !

Congratulations .... I am glad everyone likes your ring.

Can you send me or post some pictures possibly? Also note her ring size. Curious to see how rings look on hands.

I would appreciate any help you can provide me.

Best of luck!

I''d go with the Tiffany

I''d go with whatever she prefers. A RB will look different to the novo if that is the look you''re going for. A 1.24 would look great on her size finger.

If Tiffany''s is what she wants, I would go with that. A 1.24 centre stone would look good on her size 6 finger.

If she likes the look of the Novo but doesn''t care about the name brand, you might want to consider one of Mark T''s settings: stock number 281. Here''s a link for some of Mark''s pave settings.

Another option might be to consider Leon Mege to go the setting. He does pretty spectacular pave work.

Although I am not a Tiffany''s fan because I think they are consistently overpriced, if your girlfriend has said she wants the Tiffany Novo, then you should get her exactly that. A 1.24 will look great on her hand. It will be large -- larger than most rings you see -- but not huge.

On the other hand, if she hasn''t specifically requested Tiffany, I personally think it''s not worth the money. Good Old Gold and Blue Nile have fantastic stones for less, and you can get a larger stone for the same money. Or take a vacation with the few thousand you can save! Or save it for your upcoming wedding. :)

If it were me, I would not want the hassle of selling the pear stones from the friend''s unused ring, and I also wouldn''t want to have bought anything other than a brand new stone for an engagement. I would say start fresh instead.

Okay so.

I'm suspicious of anything that's too good. So you DEFINITELY need a Certificate and an INDEPENDANT (please ask what this means if you have questions, it's crucial) appraisal, IMO before you spend money on that ring of your friends... if you want to pursue that.

And personally if all checks out, those pears would be REALLY nice re-set into something as a wedding present. Bezeled with a round on top of each one for a pear of earrings??? Woo Hoo! And an extra carat of size? Nothing to sneeze at! But it's a round.

As someone who fell in love with the Tiffany Lucida ring and wanted that ring... then priced things out and found out that I could get a much larger diamond by going for a generic cut and 'insprired' setting and went with that option... I will tell you, HANDS down if I could have gotten something even close to the size I wanted at Tiffany without putting us very much in debt, I would have in a heartbeat. But I couldn't, and size was more important to me (and yet I picked an asscher, but that's another story) than the brand.

But I made that choice. Not my fiance, so I was happy with it. And thrilled with my ring and diamond when he opened the box, because it was EXACTLY WHAT I ASKED FOR.

If you had been chosing between a generic cushion in a similar setting (Whiteflash's Harmony is a favorite of mine-- with an integrated head though. Or the Ritani endless love without halo) and the Novo and you were talking about a carat in difference... I would have said go for the generic. But between a round and a cushion. Some people just like fancy cuts (not rounds) for their rings. I'm one of them. If your lady is too... she really might prefer the Tiffany to a larger round.

You are the only one who knows her. Is she a control freak or easy going? Is she traditional, or does she prefer things a little different? Is she brand concious? Or size concious (or both... no win!).

My fiance knew full well that I wanted exactly what I asked for. How would you fiance feel if she opened the box and there was a big round diamond in place of the blue box full of cushion-y goodness?

Also did I miss what color and clarity you were looking at in the Novo? I think Tiffany does H VS2 now. I'd investigate that if you haven't.

Hi Another one bites the dust, I see you got your fiancee the BlueNile Nouveau!! I would so appreciate it if you could post up some pictures on this discussion:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/tiffany-novo-fan-blue-nile-nouveau-vs-good-old-gold-gabriel-co-vs-de-beers-forever-pave-or-db-c.107805/

I''m also looking for something that looks like Tiffany Novo but with a round diamond instead of cushion. I saw someone else''s post with the BN Nouveau, but not enough to convince me all the way yet. I''m also considering the Good Old Gold Gabriel & Co setting which is also very nice. Thanks in advance!!!
