I have been searching the internet but I absolutely cannot find the type of handkerchief that I''m looking for. All I see are lacy ones with tons of embroidery. I want the fabric itself to be simple with maybe a few stripes or something. Then I want block letters for the monogram. I''ve found mens ones that kinda work, but I''d really like some made for women.

I''m going for a preppy look. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for something similar for men and women but with different lettering. I'm curious as to where people may have bought theirs.

I was reading an old In Style weddings magazine that showed a linen hemstitched style with block letters and a square around it. Very cute. You might want something like that goldenstar... the article says they are from monogram market http://monogrammarket.com/. I don't see them on the site though. They seem a bit pricey too at $33 each but look nice.

Edit: I found this page on their site! Super cute monograms! http://monogrammarket.com/monograms/

By the way is this a good gift for people in your bridal party or should something more substanstial be given? If they are very nice high quality ones?

Ooohh I LOVE those monograms! That''s exactly what I wanted. Too bad there are no handkerchiefs on that site.

I wonder if I can just buy some plain handkerchiefs and find a place that will do monograms in the style I want.

You should call them. In Style magazine showed handkerchiefs that they monogram. Their site is pretty new-ish so I bet they haven''t listed them up there yet. I''m sure they have them though.

I''m going to LA on May 16th. I''ll drop in the store in Santa Monica and see what they have to offer.

That might be your best option. You can at least know what you are getting without having to wait to get a personalized order that isn''t right that''s non-returnable.

That''s probably true... I''m definitely going in to the store to look at their items.

Just a little update on my visit to ''Monogram Market'' last weekend.

Super cute store! I really liked their monograms, the quality seemed very nice. They had a lot of thread colors to choose from so I was able to match up the different tie and dress color swatches with the thread they had available. They had the basic means striped handkerchief and they had two types of women''s, lacey and a square pattern. The square one was more modern and the woman at the shop said it was very popular. The handkerchiefs all had a very nice quality feel to them. We wound up ordering all of the men''s in the ''diamond'' monogram and the women''s in the ''carrie''. The guys are going to be in three colors, one shade of blue for the best man, man of honor and groom, another for the groomsmen and a light green for the ushers. The ladies get a magneta monogram with a light pink border on theirs. I chose lacey since we''re doing the ''marie antoinette'' theme. We got some for our parents and my grandmother as well.

They were a bit on the pricey side but we figured this could count as a ''gift'' for a lot of them. It was $17 for the men''s and $18 for the women''s. Add on $10 apiece for monograming and 8.25% CA tax. They do come pre-boxed and wrapped with a bow, for free, if you like. Shipping for 15 of them was $12.50 to norcal.
