It looks like there are a lot of, uhm, gifts given around Christmas shopping season.

Must be all that Christmas spirit! merry merry!

Is this world-over or specific to the U.S.? Notice how there are not many births around Christmas and Thanksgiving...is it because hospitals are less likely to induce around a holiday?

eta: also July 4th

My sons birthday is pretty uncommon. Mine is more common. That is a cool link Haven!!

I know a lot of people born in September and March. Seems like September is really common based on that data! Happy New Year?!

Very interesting because our family all has birthdays July through October except the granddaughter who was born in Nov.

Maybe people are just trying to keep warm...

Hahahaha.

I think people just procrastinate on Christmas shopping.

Hi,

Studies like this have been done before. It comes out the same and the conclusions were that it is getting colder 9 months before.
Yes, it is the weather.

Yep, my Mom jokes about the long cold winters in Chicago...

I wonder if this birth pattern is reversed in the southern hemisphere.

Ha, well, I'm due August 14...you can guess what I was thankful for last Thanksgiving

I'm NOT going to make a joke about stuffing.

Funny, I have the least common birthday. And Fi's is 347/366.

I always thought it was October.

Both my kids, and about 6 other family members have their birthdays in May....I guess we like to celebrate American Labor day in a big way!

And one could safely assume this would be nearly exactly reversed for the southern hemisphere. I am a January baby, rare where I grew up. Here, off the top of my head and only at my work place, I know at least 10 other people who were born in January (though it is suggested that Capricorns are naturally drawn to my profession, so that may skew the results). However, DH is a July baby, so he would have been a popular date in the northern hemisphere, but is a very quiet time of the year down here.

Growing up I was always jealous of the summer birthday pool parties (while I was stuck ice skating!)...little did I know, I just had to change hemispheres!
