Just curious what different people do for their showers, as far as when you take them. I have always taken mine in the evenings, especially since I used to play sports all the time, in high school and after. Plus my hair was (still is, haha) super pain-staking to dry and straighten, so I''d let it dry at night, and straighten it in the morning to save time.

I have a new haircut now (as of last week), and I''m wearing it naturally curly a lot more now, which needs to be freshly done in the mornings. It''s shorter too, and when worn straight, it looks a lot better when freshly blow-dried instead of slept on. But I work out in the afternoons when I get home from work, so I like to take a shower after that in the evenings. I''ve tried leaning over the tub in the mornings and just wetting my head with the mobile nozzle, instead of taking a full-out shower (which adds a lot of time to my mornings). But it hurts the heck out of my back and neck, and it never really wets my head fully, unless I turn over, which makes it even harder and makes a huge, wet mess everywhere, haha.

So as of right now, I''m now taking 2 showers a day, basically. I''m certainly not that fond of that, both for time and water-saving reasons. My showers aren''t super long or anything (~10 min?), but still... Are there any ways out there I''m not aware of to re-do a hairstyle without a full-out shower every morning? What do you guys do, especially if you work out AND try to take showers in the mornings? Is 2 showers a day insane?

Shower every morning and on evenings that I work out.

I hate greasy hair.

eta: and no, two showers a day isn't insane. In the summer it's sometimes mandatory imo.

Shower in the morning. Bath at night to relax most nights. My morning shower is all of 5 minutes usually. Jump in, shampoo, soap up, condition, rinse off, done.

I shower in the evenings when all 3 kids are asleep...if I shower during the day...I won''t be alone

..they love jumping in with me

In the morning right after my daily duty. (or daily doodie)

I take a shower in the morning. I feel gross and greasy if I don''t. If it has been a hot day, or if i''ve been doing anything physical, I will also take a shower before I go to bed.

Strawberries, have you tried keeping a spray bottle filled with water to dampen your hair in the morning? Ideally, one shouldn''t blow-dry from WET, anyway, but damp. That''s what I do when I shower at night.

To answer your question, my shower schedule is all over the place. I prefer to go to bed clean, then rinse off (not full shower, because my skin is very dry) again in the morning, but the majority of the time I don''t have the time to shower at night... and sleep comes first.

Once in the morning. And before bedtime or if I feel hot and sticky after a work out which ever is earlier. Showering twice a day is not insane at all. But not showering at all is.

I even take cold showers during winter...insane huh?

In the winter I shower once a day and in the summer I usually shower twice a day. I try to wash my hair every other day because it feels and looks better that way, but sometimes I end up washing it every day if I work out or if it''s really hot that day. I used to blowdry it every time I washed it but in the summer it doesn''t stay as straight anyway so I curl it once or twice a week in between the times I blowdry it.

When I take a shower without washing my hair, it only lasts maybe 2 or 3 minutes because I just get in, use some body wash, rinse off, and get out.

I shower after work before I go to bed. I will shower in the morning if I go for a run or walk in the morning as well. Would a spray bottle work for your hair in the morning or does it have to be completely wet?

I shower in the morning, and again in the evening if ''m going out and was a hot day.

I take long 15-minute showers and lock the door so my kids cannot come into the bathroom. . .either they leave me alone or spend that entire time pounding on the door asking me questions and driving me nuts!!!

On days when I garden or workout, I take a second rinse shower, but do not wash my hair a second time. In fact, I wash my hair every other day, so it doesn't dry out as much. On Saturday, I had 3" cut off because it was becoming a pain to style. (I asked the stylist to cut off 4-5", but seems she was afraid to chop that much off - maybe thinking I would freak if it ended too short!)

I''ve always showered every morning. That''s my routine, but during summer time I take a second shower before I put dinner on the table. I''m not always in air conditioning during the day, so I feel sticky and uggcckky at the end of the day. I just make sure to moisturize well after each. It''s actually supposed to not be good to shower too much because it strips the skin of all it''s natural oils, but in summer time.....

Ditto.

I shower every morning, and if I'm going out in the evening, I'll take a quick shower before I change into my nice clothes. Showering twice a day is fine as long as you keep it brief (only takes me 5 minutes if I don't wash my hair). Oh, and make sure you aren't washing your hair more than once a day.

shower in the mornings after I shave.5-10 minutes.

Usually just once in the morning.

In the winter, I try to shower every other day to keep my skin and hair from getting too dry; I break down sometimes and shower every day if I feel too gross.

I don''t think it''s insane at all to shower twice a day. I try to work out in the morning so that I can save myself that evening shower, but that doesn''t always work, so I often shower twice a day.

I love showers. I''d shower five times a day if I had the time (and didn''t care about wasting all that water.)

During the school year I shower in the morning before work, and then again at night if I exercise or play a sport after school.

During the summer I shower some time in the late morning/early afternoon. I wake up around 9, take the dog for a long walk, eat breakfast on the back deck, and then shower. If we go out at night I usually shower again because I feel a bit sticky after spending all day out in the sun. Rough life, I know.

I take one in the evenings or on my lunch hour (i work from home) I start work at 6:00 am so I like to sleep in as long as I can

Shower every morning, and sometimes at night if I did something that made me sweat or get dirty. Or for, um, extracurricular activities

Is this personal hygiene day on PS?

Morning. Unless I have great 2nd day hair goin'' on, and I don''t want to screw that up. But I''ll darn sure have a bath.

Before bed if I''m feeling really grungy, or in the summer when sweat happens. But I''ll get up and do it again in the AM. I never go to bed, summer or winter, without at least a good ''sink bath''. It''s how I was raised; never get between the sheets unless you''re clean.

I shower in the morning. Unless I am off, then I shower whenever I am done my chores.

As soon as I can smell myself and think..."I don''t smell good".

Wow, haha what varied responses!!

musey and tigian - I have tried the spray bottle before. I actually had forgotten to mention that. It just doesn''t seem to get the hair wet enough, because I have to be able to comb it and then apply product to it. Whenever I do shower, if I''m going straight, I don''t immediately start styling with the blow dryer from wet - I usually blot it a lot with an old Tshirt then tousle it a lot with the blowdryer and hands to get the moisture out. Then I style. But the spray bottle doesn''t penetrate my thick hair enough to make a difference for me to be able to get the styling product in. Of course, I haven''t tried the spray bottle since I got this haircut (has only been 5 days), so maybe I''ll give it a try again. I just didn''t know if it was better to apply my styling product right after a shower, or if the hair just has to be wet (even if just from the spray bottle) and that''s all. I also use different shampoo and conditioner, depending on if I''m doing the syle curly or straight that day, so I wasn''t sure how to work with that fact either. Blaaaah.

On days when I don''t work out, it''s not so much of a problem I guess. But when I do, I feel grungy and need to wash my hair that night too. Then I can''t figure out what to do the next morning, since I know it''s not good to wash your hair twice a day, as Lilykat mentioned.

Hehe sorry if I added to all the personal hygiene questions. I haven't been able to hang out on here much and didn't notice that.

I'll have to go check those out.

I was raised to go to bed clean too, Holly - that's why I love my night showers. But I'm a big fan of the sink bath too - haha I was brought up calling them "bird baths."
