What's the very first thing you're going to do as soon as lockdown is lifted?

Go to the mall. I’ve actually forgotten what it’s like to dress up, go out and actually buy something. Get a haircut. Eat out at my favorite restaurant. Get a drink (since it’s also liquor ban here). I’ve been in quarantine for a good month. Our Philippine President just announced that he sees no end in sight for the quarantine. So that 1 month extension then just announced is gonna get a lot longer. Hopefully everything gets better by then. I miss breathing the air of the city. Seeing the night lights. And people everywhere.

Nothing really.

As an extreme introvert what I do has changed very little, besides wearing a mask when shopping, and carrying home-made alcohol wipes around with me in a zip lock bag.

Frankly, the only person I ever cared to get within 6 ft of is my SO, and we still get very close. :Up_to_something::Up_to_something::Up_to_something:
Oh muh gosh ... we even touch! :eek2:

Well, I am one that does not believe things will go back just like that. It will take a long time and it will be gradual. People will hopefully be cautious because they should be. Remember we do not yet have a cure or a solution.

I am definitely not negative just realistic. I think we should all do something that lifts our mood. I would love to and will have to travel but not sure how soon that can happen. Until then once I can get bling made again I am making a ring for myself for my birthday.

Oh and I am also planning to move to a nice place, which will hopefully happen before quarantine is completely lifted where I am.

In a way it is not hard for me because I am much more introverted today but I hate things that restrict my freedom and free will, so this much restriction is hard.

I also find it extremely hard not to ever be able to wear my beautiful dresses, get made up and blinged up. I am not superficial but it is a part of my identity.

Go and rescue my teen who is stranded in the United States! The borders where we live closed suddenly 5-6 weeks ago while she was still attending school. I have a list of things to pack, like knitting projects and card games, for the inevitable quarantining that we'll have to do after landing back here.

Take a couple of days off work and...
go for a proper bike ride with my riding buddy,
go out to brunch,
get a hair cut,
take the dogs to the beach which is further than 5km from my house, or the dog park which are all closed atm,
go to the gym instead of doing online classes,
get a massage,
go out to dinner at our favourite restaurant,
go to drinks at our local bar where all the neighbours go too.

But realistically we’ll only go out of level 4 to level 3 which means not much of that will happen. Hopefully restaurants go to takeaway so we can start properly supporting them again. I suspect we’ll be doing a flurry of dinners at all our neighbours’ houses too.

Not gonna lie, I don’t trust any of our administrations - federal or state - not to decide to free everyone before its wise to do so. I think we’ll be resurgent like Hong Kong.

So I’ll be visiting my parents and visiting DH’s parents, and a few close friends, but I’ll continue avoiding large gatherings of people for a long time. I have too many immunocompromised family and friends to take unnecessary risks.

Do you mean China? HK's new cases have been steadily decreasing and have been in the single-digit range for a while now, eg. yesterday was 5 and today is 3.

I too worry about new cases re-emerging after we think the risk is gone. But I have to have some hope...it's all been doom and gloom.

Hope you have a lovely time with family and friends, @yssie. I am immunocompromised so I'll have to be super careful too.

Start looking for bathroom tissue. Hopeless to find any now. Bought the last package from Amazon just before lockdown. I am about to run out in a month.
Next, wait another month and then get my fix by eating out. Continue to monitor virus situation before considering any international trip. I take this virus very seriously.

Book a flight to visit my son and future DIL, (then I’ll get a much needed hair cut and colour)

I am going with my husband and my best friend and her husband to El Dorado Cafe in Austin TX, I'm going to order Joel's Happy Plate, a Tamarindo drink (probably 2) and maybe their queso, and for dessert their chocolate mousse! also of course we will have the usual chips and 3 types of salsas!

Then I will go home and take a nap :)

Can't wait!

@Phoenix You are such a lovely lady! thank you for this topic, made me smile.. sending Kate hugs to you in HK from TX!

I'd like to get a manicure and pedicure. I do it myself now and it's just not the same.

Probably nothing. I’m one of the ones who discovered my real life is apparently called “isolation” lol.

Well, maybe I would go swimming if the gym was open.

I wish I could feel that way about isolation. I'd previously thought i liked my own company...turns out not so much! lol

I had a huge surge of work to deal with & it is quite enough - I wish everyone else gets distracted, so I get to lock down too for a couple of days.

@yssie I will be watching whom & how I meet for much longer, sure enough.

It's good to keep busy, isn't it?

I'm putting on all my jewelry and going to the closest Mexican restaurant. Chips and queso by the bucketful!!

Sounds like a good plan.

I'm going to visit my mother. I've been worried about her every day. Life is precious and fragile.

I hope she's ok. I hope you can go see her very soon. Life is indeed precious and fragile.

See my SO - we live in separate houses and haven’t been able to see each other much
Go for a long swim
Go see my mother in AZ who has pancreatic cancer
Get a haircut and color
Go see a movie

Fingers crossed, yes, since it is difficult for me to get work out of my head. I'll be climbing a mountain first day I can, either of the two in view from my desk will do.

Pay a visit to my hair stylist! I'm not proud of this, but it's true: the lack of a haircut is getting me down. With a hair cut & a professional blow-out, I'll feel bouncier again...and "fit" to greet and meet everyone

I wonder what it would be like to go in a big mall and shop?!

Today I tempted fate (a fine from the police) and went out for a short drive beyond the restricted area. Amazingly, the super cool plant nursery gates were wide open. (The kind of nursery that has statues and sculptures and goldfish and doves…you name it, they have it). It’s weird that they were open. I was the only person there. I mean...nothing is open here and you hardly see a soul.

I walked around in a daze trying to see something to buy, but my brain couldn’t seem to take it all in and I kept thinking what IS all this stuff?? I don’t need any of it. It was surreal to be there. I confess that I ended up buying a rose bush.

I’d thought that I would go crazy with a shopping cart the next time I could go into a store that actually has something besides food.
But I’m realize that I like this new life. It’s been a struggle to find plants for the new garden, and each one is precious. I’ve had to make do, and the simplicity and thoughtfulness is appealing.
It’s an interesting shift.

Get a HAIRCUT! My hair is very short (basically a typical Men's cut) and it is UNRULY at this point! I want my fade back!

Going to the ballet and/or see a play or go to the Philharmonic. Also on my list. Can’t do it all at once but it’s in the list when things open up. I want to support the arts.

I'm going to visit my mother. I've been worried about her every day. Life is precious and fragile.

I hope your mom remains well. You’re so right. Life is both precious and fragile.

Thanks Missy - things have been put into perspective lately, as you can imagine! I'm choosing to be happy. I know you want that for everyone and I'm so grateful to be connected with you through PS. Your kindness and intelligence are such assets here <3

@FancyDiamond, are you in the US? I got on the waitlist at (sorry for the awful name) Who Gives A Crap about three weeks ago and got an email Monday that I was at the top of the list to order a case.

To answer the OP's question: I'm going to walk across the park to the rec center and go for a swim. And then, I am going to take a road trip to the beach and lay in the sun while my children and dogs run wild and loosely supervised for a bit.

I agree that lockdown lifting won't happen for awhile - at least, it shouldn't - but when the coast is clear, I will:

- As soon as it's safe, I really need to fly out to visit my parents. They're elderly and both have chronic health problems. I worry about them constantly. :cry2:

- Kill many birds with one stone by setting up a group date night with dear friends. We've been doing Zoom happy hours with them, which is great, but it's not the same. I miss them! A group date will also give me a chance to have some tasty food that's not cooked by me, and I can put on clothes that aren't sweatpants, brush my hair, apply lip gloss...basically all the stuff that helps me look and feel less like the disheveled hag that I am right now.
