I decided I need to make a list - there are too many things I want to keep track in my head!
1.gif

In the next few years, I''d like to get:

1) A 36" white freshwater strand, 7-8 mm
2) A 16" Freshadama strand, 8-9 mm
3) A double strand of white freshwaters, 7-8 mm
4) White South Sea pearl drop earrings - only 9-10 mm
5) White tin cup necklace
6) Gold South Sea studs - 9-10 mm

I''m sure I''ll be able to find more to add to this list too
2.gif
For one, I''d love to get another studs/strand set of white Freshwaters with a rose overtone (instead of all the silver ones I have) and some pink pearls, but those are low priority right now

Hehe, for now, I''d be happy with this: A 18" Black Tahitian and Golden South Sea Baroque strand, 10-12 mm.

Good idea BEG. I need to make a list too, but between this and gemstones (and settings for the gemstones!), who knows what will come first. It''s nice to think about though. So, on my wishlist are:

1. 8mm Freshadama studs
2. 9-10mm Freshadama pendant with diamond bale
3. 6mm, 2 or 3 strand freshwater bracelet with super-fancy clasp
4. drop earrings, but they have to be post earrings, not leverbacks or shepherd hooks - maybe make the drops into jackets so they can hang from diamond or pearl studs.

Hey BEG, how would you wear the 36" strand - would you double it or leave it long? If you doubled it, you could almost cross the double strand off your list, since you want the same size pearls for both. And since it''s a 2 for 1, maybe you could justify Freshadamas?!
31.gif

I love pearls, but it took years for me to find that pearls actually work for me. Now that I love wearing them I''m hoping to buy one day:

-stud earrings in a variety of colours
-a pearl bracelet (type, size and colour TBD)
-a pearl solitaire rings (type, size and colour TBD)
-a strand of graduated pearls (type, length, sizes, colour all TBD)

I''m saving up for a little vacation right now, so I''m trying very hard not to drool over jewelry or put to much research into anything. I will save that for when I''m actually ready to buy!

Over the last few years I bought a lot of pearls ( 4 pairs of earrings and enough necklaces for every day of the week) so I''m not craving anything right now. But in the future I wouldn''t mind a strand of baroque south sea pearls and some freshadama studs. Some sort of unusual abalone mabe piece would also be fun. On impulse I just bought a cheap pair of freshwater studs a few days ago. They haven''t arrived yet though.

I be ecstatic if I could find even one natural pearl to own. If anyone is interested, there is this Canadian antique site at fraleigh.ca that has a few pieces, but I just haven''t found the perfect piece yet.

Besides that, I''d really like:

1)a freshwater torsade
2)a graduated strand, maybe 18" inches,
3)a double strand with a really fancy clasp- my aunt has a double strand with the most beautiful clasp, or perhaps it was a pendant built into the necklace, I''m not sure, that was designed to be worn so that the pendant/clasp would sit to just below her left collarbone. It was gorgeous and huge with some kind of medium blue stone, probably blue topaz. It was such an interesting piece, really classic but still modern. I think I would go for Freshadama''s for this one.
4)a large-ish strand of baroque akoyas
5)Pearl Paradise''s Freshadama ring. I love the setting!

I''d probably have to pick just one of the above for now as I''m a student
20.gif
, but perhaps I could get one and also a freshwater torasade, because I have seen pretty cheap ones around that are only about $30.

BEG- Golden southseas are so pretty!

I''m thinking of getting a golden south sea pearl pendant (AAA,10mm) for next year :) I was worn between the white and gold south seas...might change my mind and go for white by the time next year gets here, lol.

Ideally I''d like to get both one day :)

Cellentani, you should make a gemstone/setting list too
1.gif
I have one somewhere - written on a scrap of paper. The problem is when I start buying stones NOT on the list
5.gif

Actually, I would totally double the 36" strand, so you''re right - I probably don''t need a double strand (although maybe years from now I''ll indulge and get a triple
2.gif
). The only bad thing about the 36" is that it''s not available in Freshadamas (at least not on PearlParadise) so I''d have to do AAA freshwaters. Not that much of a noticeable difference, though. But I was thinking about it - since I''m working on building up my pearl collection into something I''ll be wearing for years and years, I''ll definitely be upgrading to AAA or Freshadamas on each one
9.gif

Oh this is terrible, but I was thinking of buying the 36" now so I''ll have something dressy but casual for work

Ooh vacation to where? I love the "variety of colors" - I feel the same way. Eventually I want a pearl rainbow

Haha that must have been some pearl binge! Pictures?

Ooh I forgot something that I wanted to add to the list. So remember that thread a while back about the blue eyrie pearls in New Zealand? They are horrendously expensive but beautiful - I got to see some a few weeks ago. I''d love to get one - especially since they''re so different.

Szh, that''s what tuition refund checks are for!
2.gif
Or so I say.... hehe.

As for #3 that reminds me - I''d love to eventually get an enhancer (I think that''s what they''re called?) to wear with a strand of pearls. Something big and sparkly and colorful to set off the white pearls....more projects!

You should! I''d like both someday too - I think I would wear white a lot more, but the hue of the golden south seas is just intense and beautiful. I can see why it''d be so hard to decide!

Well, I just ordered some AAA 6-7 mm white Freshwater pearls (35" strand) and a pair of pink Freshadama studs (7-7.5 mm).
1.gif

Amended list:

1) A 16" white Freshadama strand, 8-9 mm
2) White South Sea pearl drop earrings - 9-10 mm
3) Golden South Sea drop earrings - 9-10 mm
4) White tin cup necklace
5) Pink Freshadama double strand, 7-8 mm
6) Golden South Sea pendant

Ok, this list has NOT gotten shorter.
32.gif

Ooh yay for new pearl goodies!
36.gif
And I''m tickled that your list hasn''t grown any shorter. Has this thread been a bad influence on you already?

Well, I''ll list my full list now.
1)Black tahitian and golden south sea strand
2)Pearl and crystal rope
3)7 mm white akoya stud earrings
4)Three-strand necklace (would love freshadamas or something similar) with gemstone clasp

I wonder if PP would custom make the last one? I think the trouble would be finding the right clasp.

A pearl rainbow sounds wonderful! I''d like one too please!

We''re hoping to spend a couple days in Niagara Falls. I haven''t been there in years, but it''s so beautiful!

I bought a set of a 3 stud freshwater pearls today in white, lavender and black. I didn''t realize that freshwater pearls came in black. Would they be dyed? The salesgirl didn''t know. She asked her manager if they were freshwater or cultured, and the manager assured us they were freshwater.
20.gif

So now that I''ve scratched that off my list, I''m itching for some Akoya and South Sea pearls!

black 9 mm AAA Tahitian Pearl Stud Earrings. they''ve been on my list for quite some time.

Freshwater pearls are never black unless they are dyed.

That''s what I thought. What about other colours like peach and lavender?

Peach and lavender are natural.

Terrible influence, actually all of Pricescope! But I don''t mind
2.gif

Hmm...maybe you could get the clasp made elsewhere, and source your stones on your own (I bet WF or Brian Gavin or Leon, etc. could do a beautiful clasp), and have PP use it instead of one of theirs? Can''t hurt to ask, and then you could get more creative with the design if you wanted, etc. That sounds like a really fun project!

black 9 mm AAA Tahitian Pearl Stud Earrings. they''ve been on my list for quite some time.

I love black pearls. I got really lucky and my mom gave me hers when she decided they were too small! Otherwise it would be awhile before I got them - and one more thing to have added to my list. I love them though - very versatile to wear!

Too small? I WISH I had that problem! I''m glad that you gave them a loving home. I''d lovingly adopt any pearls, diamonds, or colored stones.

Lately, I've been drooling over one thing in particular: a Tahitian Keshi pearl strand, AAA, 16-18'' (from TPO).

At some point in my life, I would like a golden south sea strand. I imagine that my hair will be silver by the time this actually becomes reality, b/c I have a diamond addiction.

Hey BEG, did you get your new strand and studs yet? Oh wait, I just checked and it''s been only 3 days, haha. Time''s going by slowly for me, and they''re not even my pearls!!

Cellentani I did! I got them yesterday - I overnighted them because I''m moving for the summer tomorrow, and wanted to be sure to get them on time. But I have yet to take pictures - I''m kind of rushing around getting last minute stuff done. So hopefully when I''m in NY I''ll take some pics and post them!

Thanks for remembering!

Well, NY is closer to me than Chicago! Hope the move goes well and you get settled quickly. I''m sure you''re anxious to start making some $$ (if only for more gemstones and pearls). We''ll be waiting for you when things quiet down.

OK, if money came raining down . . .
1.gif

- a silvery blue string of tahitians
- a long opera length strand of pearls to double up if I want
- a South Sea strand (white)
. . . I''m sure I could come up with more but that''s my starting point!
