What would a reasonable discount be?

Hey guys,

I posted a thread a few posts ago.

Is it possible to negotiate on the price of a loose stone from a diamond dealer, or is the wholesale price the absolute lowest?
If so, what would be a good percentage off (from the wire price) to shoot for?

I havent seen your other thread but in reply to this q - sometimes if you buy both stone and setting from the same vendor they can sometimes wiggle with the combined price, certainly doesn't hurt to ask. I'd wager you'll have a tough time pulling a PS vendor from their posted prices for the stone alone though, as the margins are slim.

I'd say not likely with a virtual vendor. Just pick the one with the cheapest price in the search engine. Their margins are quite lean. I wanted dimend scaasi to get my a diamond I had found with the PS engine and the warned they can not offer those prices. With a BM, I'd find it in the virtual engine, know what a fair price is and you may be able to get them down since their price is going to be more inflated.
