I hope this will be a continuing conversation. I am still having side effects from chemo and immunotherapy. Can’t have manicures or pedicures. My fingers change shape and size from one day to the next. And yet I still want that rush of serotonin from putting on something shiny and pretty that brightens my day. Here’s my go to, Maria La Rosa image.jpg ribbed laminated silk socks.

Any ideas? Any more serotonin lifters?

Thank you, @Daisys and Diamonds for the suggestion. It’s wonderful! I will dig through my pile of T shirts to find this one I bought years ago at the Tower of London. You might like it, too, since you feel naked without a necklace.

My treatment finished 7 months ago, but the side effects are still with me, although much improved. I hope you continue to improve. IMG_2870.jpeg

I’m so sorry you are going through this. It sounds mentally and physically painful.

Are loose bracelets or longer pendants an option? I say loose on the bracelets to account for swelling, and long on the pendants so you could see them.

Maybe a brooch?

Ooh, crazy idea: oversized denim jacket (or denim style jacket with stretchy fabric for more comfort). Decorate with pins and/or brooches.

Silicone rings or bracelets? They can be really pretty and comfortable even with swelling. Enso rings has bracelets as well as rings.

Hugs.

Bright colour clothes and accessories?

I too would suggest bracelets, necklaces and brooches that can be taken off with ease.

Get well soon!

DK :wavey:

Pendants, yes, I can wear, as long as they go over my head. Good thought and thanks. My fingertips are numb, so I tend to have the dropsies with fiddly things. And my collection is much larger in rings!

This might make you laugh. My oncology dermatologist is trying me on a new treatment, that has to be made at a compounding pharmacy, and is intended to stimulate blood flow and healing. It is moisturiser and sildenafil (Viagra) combined! All of my fingers and toes are crossed that it works. I am not typical.

Numb fingers and toes are the worst. I have Raynaud’s so mine are numb when fully frozen. I cannot imagine it all the time.

If you want to wear shorter necklaces, there are magnetic clasps—you just pull apart and they come back together. Haven’t used any myself but I swear there have been posts about it.

Fingers crossed that the viagra works! Blood flow is blood flow no matter where!

Oh, one more thought—if your collection is mostly in rings and you want to see those pretties…..you could have someone help you thread them on a longer necklace and wear them as pendants. They also make ring holder necklaces, though until you have gotten that compounded cream working it might be difficult to thread a ring onto one. Charm holders are big now, though, and you could use those to hold rings.

What about cuff bracelets? No clasps to bother with.

And spending $$$ on new jewelry probably isn't what you're looking to do, but I remember seeing these expandable diamond rings and thinking they were genius.

Dear @Mrsz1ppy I didn’t know you have been unwell. Hope the chemotherapy has helped. Sorry to hear about the side effects. I am currently staying in Paris at London, and am wearing only a tiny bit of jewellery (small earrings) because I don’t want to attract attention. So I have turned to scarves. They’re versatile and I just wrap them round or tie them in various ways. You can even use your rings as scarf clips if the scarfs are not too thick. I also brought a few brooches. They’re great because they don’t irritate the skin and you can even wear a few at a time!
For me, perfume/fragrance is a great mood lifter, too.
Sending hugs :)

Great ideas! Thank you. I am liberally squirting myself with my signature Chanel No 5 every day. Scarves are a punch of color that I need.
