What to do you do with old settings?

For you gal who have upgraded, what do you do with your old settings after you upgrade? I talked to superbcert about possibly melting down my current setting to re-make the new one but it was told it wasn''t possible.

I put a CZ in my old set. I wanted to keep it because it was the ring hubby proposed with and the wedding band he gave me at our wedding. some people sell them or use them on a trade in with their jeweler.

When I replaced my Scott Kay tension setting for the Ritani Endless Love, there really wasn''t much I could do with the old setting as they had to basically cut it in half to get the diamond out. Anyway, I traded it in for scrap platinum with Pearlmans and got a couple hundred dollars off my Ritani setting.

I put a CZ in mine. Colored stones work too!
