Hi everyone,

I'm currently planning my itinerary for Aruba for next month and wanted to make sure I didn't miss out on anything that's a MUST SEE or MUST DO.

Can any former travellers chime in? I tried asking the official aruba.com forums what their favorite sights were and if anything was disappointing or to be avoided, and they actually said... 'I loved everything equally, I've never heard of anything on the island being in any way disappointing to anyone.' Which seems pretty unrealistic to me. So, can anyone PSers give me the 4-1-1?

I would post this question in Hangout, you will get more hits. I heard Aruba is gorgeous; I had a friend who honeymooned there!

You lucky duck! I've still got four months to go before my tropical vacay!

I haven't been to Aruba yet, but it's definitely on the list. You've probably already checked this site, but just in case you haven't, I love www.tripadvisor.com.. It's easy to navigate, and I've come across some real gems while traveling that I might have missed if it weren't for checking out tripadvisor beforehand.

Also, I love to go to Barnes & Noble and browse the travel section to find books on places I'm planning to visit. I like getting the "big picture" of a place and feeling at least slightly familiar with where I'm going before I get there. I usually have at least a dozen restaurants highlighted and bookmarked, so I'm always ready to pig out wherever I go!

Happy travels! Hope you post plenty of pics when you return!

Yippee, what fun you will have! We went there on our honeymoon over 13 years ago. We went in the month of June, it was hot and windy. We got so sun burned, ouch! We stayed at the La Cabana; it was wonderful! We went on the Mi Dushi snorkel cruise which was fun. They had a bar for anyone who wanted adults drinks, which was my husband. I went snorkeling and he stayed on the boat and enjoyed the beverages. Another fun thing we did was go on the Tattoo dinner/booze cruise. They had dinner, drinks, and dancing, and fun dj's spinning tunes. There is a rope swing off the back of the boat that some people were having fun on...even in their clothing, ha! Good night, eh? :loopy: We took a bus downtown and looked around at the shops. There are casinos is that is something you're interested in; it wasn't our thing. We hung out at our resort lots! It had a great pool, bar, and fun tropical steel drum music in the late afternoons during happy hour. Our resort also had shows after dinner time; we saw a fire dancer. He really tried to get the crowd involved which was fun. The beach was nice, but we didn't spend much time there as we were usually at the pool. You will see lots of iguanas on the island. Hmm, if I think of anything else, I will let you know. Let me know if you have any questions!!

We went to the other side of the island that was pretty much a cliff that dropped off into the water. There were caves that
were full of bats (fruit bats). It was pretty cool. May not be for everyone.
