What size to get for my boots ? Haven''t bought any winter gear for 15 years!

I've found some high-heeled Jimmy Choo boots that I like on their website and am a tad worried about getting the wrong size. I'm normally a size 37 European (or 4 UK), not sure what that is in US. Anyhow, I haven't bought any winter clothes or shoes/ boots for the last 15 years and am not sure if I should get 37.5 or 38. I figure that 37 which would normally be ok for shoes would be a little too tight for boots - as I'm planning to wear socks with the boots.

Now, Shanghai weather should be similar to that in Europe and certain parts of the US. I don't think it gets as cold as say Chicago but it should get at least as cold as NY. I believe it goes down to about zero degree C (low thirties F) but not much below that. So I reckon one pair of socks (maybe regular, maybe a thick pair - not sure yet) should suffice, though there's a slight chance I may end up wearing two pairs of socks with the boots.

I think 37.5 would be just nice if I only wear one pair of socks with the boots but might be tight with two pairs. On the other hand, 38 may be too loose if I end up only wearing one pair of socks all or even most of the time and may actually come off my feet when I walk.

So what size shall I get? What do you PS'ers normally do for boots?

I would get 37 or 37 1/2, Jimmy Choos are supposed to run small but my boots from there are just my normal size and they fit just fine with thin socks. If you''re planning on thick socks I''d probably get the 37 1/2.

Thank you, purselover. I've found Choo shoes to be a bit on the slim side but not short. It's interesting you should say that...hmmm....That's good to know though it makes it harder for me

. The worst thing is that the only JC store in Shanghai has just closed down and I've no idea where they're relocated to so I can't go try their new boots to see how they fit!

Does anyone else have any experience with Choo boots? Pls do share.
