What should I expect to pay?

I am trying to figure out how much I should plan on saving up, before seriously "pounding the pavement" for my dream stone. Here is what I want:

Princess cut

either GIA ideal or AGS 0

Lots of sparkle

Color D

Clarity VS2

measurement no smaller than 6.0 x 6.0 (so probably around a 1.4 ct)

Not too deep (I don't want it to sit too high in the setting)

Fluorscence: faint to medium blue

Assuming I don't want to compromise on any of these aspects what can I expect to pay for such a stone in a store vs online. I was wondering how much I should plan on spending, so I can save up to around that amount before looking (as in having people bring stones in for me to see).

Thank you!!!!!!!!

ETA: I would seriously be considering purchasing from Shane Co. because I have a $2,000 credit there.

A quick PS diamond search brought out the price at around $10k up to $12k. I checked that to get at least 6 mm x 6 mm, if it isn't too deep, you can get by with a 1.2 carat Princess diamond.

I plugged in stats for a D VS2 and checked its other general cut parameters. It'll be tough to find all that PLUS flouro but if you are patient, I'm sure all the pieces will fall in together. As for prices in B&M, I have no idea what it'll be.

. I know those are some picky requirements, but this will be my perfect stone, one that I won't change. I was hoping $12k would be enough, but am willing to go up to around $15k if I have to.

Do you think it would be okay to buy from Shane Co, and use the $2k credit, or do you think the stones online would be a better deal, enough so that it is worth loosing the credit?

I don't really have any other big jewelry purchases from them in mind, so I think it would pretty much be $2k down the drain since I would have to find something in the store for $4k, therefore spending at least $2k to get my credit, if that makes sense.

ETA: Fluor isn't a must have but I think it's pretty cool, and those stones with fluor tend to cost less. But a 1.00 ratio is important to me as well

Will an AGS 0 cost more than a GIA ideal?

there is no GIA ideal. but, yes, an AGS 0 will cost more.

Sparkles, will you be able to see faint to medium flour? I always thought it had to be medium to strong in order to see its effects. I might be wrong though. Just throwing that out there. Anyway, that might lower the price a little.

Oh I was told the GIA ideal for a princess is something that''s brand new... hmmm... guess I better check that.

Poptart: I don''t know if you can or can''t. Maybe some experts can chime in....

I would look at one of the online vendors rather than Shane Co. Just my two cents.
