I''m getting a stone cut and put in a setting and still have some money left over soooo I thought maybe I''d spend it on jewelry. Of course I realize I don''t HAVE to spend it on jewelry and could save it for later but I kind of want to get something. You know how it is!
What would you get?

Oooo, Skippy, I love that!

I need a 14k wg wheat chain for a pendant I have. I would take the rest and save it for the next project, or I''d go buy some clothes.

I love, love my white gold locket, and I know it was under $500 at a very overpriced store.

That whiteflash pendant sounds charming, though.

Of course, if I had $500 right now, I''d get the silver hello kitty pendant from neiman markus or a nice hello kitty watch.

There are these sapphire and diamond earrings set in 18K white gold at a local jeweler that is retiring and selling off all of his stock that I saw last week. A great match to my favorite necklace. But I just bought a Canon SD900 today, too! Hubby is playing with it right now. So no earrings.

Hhmm - maybe something in Lagos, Yurman, David Hardy or Konstantino
not sure of the pricing, it has been a while since I''ve looked at their pieces.
Have fun - let us know what you do.

I just purchased 2 pairs of earrings at overstock.com for under $500 (pics here). You might want to look there for something pretty and inexpensive.

Hi IK,

Have you looked on Signed Pieces? They sometimes have great stuff for less than $500.

I just bought a beautiful garnet ring in a very thin diamond pave halo with pave down the sides for about that much from a B&M. They knocked off about 40% of the price, when I said "can''t you do better on the price?", so that can help in that price range. To me deep red garnets are so beautiful, and very inexpensive, so a good option for a lower-priced piece.

I would go to ylang-ylang.com (AWESOME jewelry store) and get something like this for $500, a cute everyday trinket necklace with a beautiful faceted white topaz charm: http://www.ylang23.com/item.cfm?ShopBy=price&ItemID=11451

How cool is this 1mm blackened 18k gold band with orange sapphires, $500? http://www.ylang23.com/item.cfm?ShopBy=price&ItemID=11071 . They also carry this band in ruby, yellow sapphire, and tsavorite.

I love, LOVE this delicate Jeanine Payer bracelet, $400. http://www.ylang23.com/item.cfm?ShopBy=price&ItemID=10168

OK, how cool are these pearl chandelier earrings, $375: http://www.ylang23.com/item.cfm?ShopBy=price&ItemID=8330

Sorry I couldn''t post the pictures themselves. Ylang-Ylang doesn''t allow copying of image addresses.

I LOVE ylang-ylang! Gorgeous! Would suggest a whimsical Sydney Evan pendant or a gorgeous Becky Kelso stackign ring.. You can try givingtreejewelry.com as well, lots of Alexis Bittar there. Both these websites gave me excellent excellent service even though I am right on the other side of the globe!

Alternatively, go to marleneharriscol.com for some antique pieces, I see that they have some great buys there for under $500.

This is a really helpful thread. I''m leaning toward buying a loose stone. Obviously not a diamond since I want to spend even less than $500.

So I''m checking the sites that sell stones.

Oh my so many choices! Don''t you hate having to pick one thing. I kind of like the idea of a Tahitian pearl pendant, signed pieces does have cool stuff though too, and I like the stuff at the Ann Mckay studio website as well.....sigh.

I wish I could go with you. I find our pawn shop prices are the same as WF and GOG.
