I have a ritual every Thanksgiving and I watch a bunch of my favourite holiday movies....what are yours?

1. It's a wonderful life
2. Miracle on 34th Street
3. Elf
4. Polar Express
5. Christmas Carol (1984 version)

White Christmas
Holiday Inn
Miracle on 34th street

(in random order)

The Christmas Story....

I think mine would have to be How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the cartoon version, not the Jim Carey version. (really disliked that one)

Love Actually is my favorite holiday movie ever! A Christmas Story and the original How The Grinch Stole Christmas are the two movies I love from my childhood. We still watch A Christmas Story at my parents'' house most Christmases!

National Lampoon''s Christmas Vacation!

For Thanksgiving - Planes, Trains and Automobiles
For Christmas - National Lampoon''s Christmas Vacation

My top 2

A Christmas Carol (George C. Scott version)
Muppet Christmas Carol (I love this one)...if you haven''t seen it check it out

1. Elf
2. Gremlins

ETA: Yeah I'm weird.

Miracle on 34th
Sixteen Candles
Crocodile Dundee
Twilight Zone marathon!

The Night They Saved Christmas (with Jaclyn Smith)
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Polar Express
The Santa Clause

the Santa Clause
Muppet Christmas Carol

Every Christmas Eve my husband and I watch Badder Santa... I laugh my a@$ off at that movie!!
I also love A Christmas Story, but my hubby refuses to watch it because it annoys him that they play it for 24 hours straight... I still watch it on my own, though.

Miracle on 34th Street
All the old gumby Christmas movies
Peanuts--I forget what the Christmas movie is called

I still have never seen "It''s a Wonderful Life." I swear I''m going to rent it this year!

The Christmas Toy (the Jim Henson movie that Toy Story completely ripped off)

When it comes to Christmas movies, I''m pretty typical. I watch A Christams Story and It''s a Wonderful Life every year. Love those!

I also loved Elf.

No particular order...

1. A Christmas Story
2. Christmas Vacation
3. It''s A Wonderful Life

I''m not sure how I got to be my age and have never seen Miracle on 34th Street or It''s a Wonderful Life. I need to work on that this year.

I love the the Polar Express, and National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. We always watch Planes, Trains and Automobiles too.
It has become a tradition to watch Love, Actually. Hubby really didn''t want to watch it that first time, but now he''s the one who pulls it out to watch each year.

LadyPirate...I forgot about the Christmas Toy...that is a good one....I love the ''cat toy''

Die Hard!! ...ok, so it's my dad's favourite Christmas movie. He especially loves the 'Ode To Joy' bit.

The classics are 'A Christmas Story' and 'It's a Wonderful Life.' I also love 'Scrooged' (and 'Trading Places' if it counts).

And no offense to those who love it, but I really don't get all the love for 'Love, Actually.' There were too many cheaters in the stories for it to leave me with a nice happy Christmas-movie feel. I just felt badly for Alan Rickman's wife and Kiera Knightley's husband who had no idea what his best friend was trying.

I felt the same way. I liked pieces of the movie but not the overall movie.

Skippy, I love the claymation tv movies too!

And Die Hard--that is a classic. "Ho ho ho. Now I have a machine gun too." I love the way Alan Rickman says that line!

Diane, every time I hear that one song from The Christmas Toy, I tear up. I'm such a sap.

Yeah, the Twilight Zone has been a total tradition. And yes, I can''t believe I forgot A Christmas Story - but I mostly watch that at Christmas.

My bf likes watching Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, and I recorded it for him on TV - but I seriously have to leave the room when he watches it. I hate all of the problems that keep piling on over and over again. It just rides my nerves, so for me it isn''t a holiday movie because I only get frustrated. National Lampoons European Vacation is funny and I love that movie when it comes on.

lol, mine is christmas vacation with chevy chase!!!

I do hate the part with Alan Rickman...it makes me so mad! The Keira Knightley thing doesn''t bother me because the friend isn''t really trying to get with her...he just loves her but he knows it will never happen!

<------White Christmas, of course!!!!
