What is this line through this antique inspired pendant?

I love this, it's a piece inspired by art nouveau/ victorian and it's made from an antique coin from the 1890's ( second pic)
and it's set into silver, but is there a particular need to have that line through the top where it is soldered together?

I know this may seem ridiculous, but I want to buy it but really don't want to message the seller questioning/seemingly criticising their work.

Thank you so much! Screenshot 2018-02-03 at 3.59.16 PM.png Screenshot 2018-02-03 at 3.59.28 PM.png

This is where the screw is.
The bezel has to open up to allow the coin to be inserted, or removed.
There is a small screw in the cylinder shaped area. It is supposed to be this way, no soldering.
If you search "Coin bezel" you will see many examples of this kind of coin mounting.
I love coin jewelry!

Thank you so much for explaining this! I didn't see a picture of it from the side, so wasn't able to see that there.

I feel rather daft now but now I know!

Thank you!!

Yes, you only see the tiny screw from the side.
Glad I could help you!
It's a pretty pendant. Coin jewelry is very interesting!
