What is the green blob on this ASET?

It's a white flash a cut above stone. What is the green blob around "11 o clock" and similarly what's going on with the mixed colors in the center? Just curious. Thanks!

There is a small tweak of a fraction of a degree in one minor facet, or the stone had a spec of dirt on it.
no human could ever see it and no machine would register a difference between a stone without it.
I doubt a H&A's images would show the same result?

Bumping this thread for an answer on that green blob. The stone I just purchased has the same blob on the ASET and I'm wondering if that's a concern?

No reason for concern. It can sometimes be seen even with super-ideals, but I would look at Garry's explanation above. One of my stones has a similar asset, absolutely no visible difference when examining the stone in person.

Looks like just one upper half facet was cut a little over 43 degrees which would've caused the green. As Garry and others mentioned, nothing you'd see.

The mixed colors in the center indicate that the diamond was cut right at the boundary of having a red or a green center and that most of the facets were one the red side of the boundary and one was on the green side of the boundary. Neither are good or bad as far as the appearance to the eye is concerned, they just are.

Thanks for all the pro responses in this thread! :)

It could also be that the diamond is sitting a little bit low in the ASET holder causing the ASET imaging system that’s being used to artifically add the green blob on the photo.

Good luck

A good indication of whether it might be a photo setup issue is to compare the actual ASET to the computer generated ASET on the AGS report. They don't always correspond perfectly, but they do tend to validate one another. The added value of the platinum cert is corroboration of the light performance images that are being represented by the merchant. The dual light map cert with the bottom ASET view likewise helps validate the hearts image. And, in the case where no light performance images are available from the vendor, the AGSL computer generated light maps are invaluable.
