What is hubby thinking?

Last night we were watching TV and all those jewelry commercials were on. There was one and it showed a solitaire and at the bottom the price was listed $999-$19,999...

DH "I was thinking that I would like to get one of those for you"
Me "A 20K diamond ring???"
DH"Yeah"
Me"I wouldn''t take it"
DH"Yes, I know you would"
Me"Ok, I would, but I would prob. pee my pants or hyperventilate"
DH"You think you would?"
Me"We will never have an extra 20K"
DH"You never know"

Now I know that some of you this is not a big deal, but to me it is HUGE deal. I can''t imagine what is going through that head of his. I have flutters in my belly just thinking about it.

I went to the Bailey Banks & Biddle bankruptcy sale on Friday. A guy walked in and said the the sales associate "I need a present for the wife for Christmas. What''s a good deal?" and the SA said "Earrings? Bracelet? Ring" and the guy said "Just whatevers a good deal". I was shocked. I thought "Is your "I''m a sucker shirt" dirty?". Crazy. What was that guy thinking.

hmmm interesting... my ring is gonna be a tad over 20k when finished... and my husband has never been really about jewelry... but hes the one that INSISTED that I get a tacori. so you never know!!! he could really be saying I WANT THAT 20K RING FOR YOU!

OK, if my husband said something like this, I would intepret it as, IF I had the money, I would love to buy you a 20K ring. Because my husband has said sentiments similar to that, that if (won the lottery, inheritance, etc) would get me or let me pick out something nice, because he knows that would be a total kick for me. Doesn''t mean he''s going to go out and do that.
But it''s still sweet.

I don''t think this is anything that is going to happen in the near future. If he has 20K in savings that I do not know about and he spends it on a ring I will kill him since I have been dieing to move out of our tiny house.

He originally picked out a 7500 ring for me before we were engaged, but I needed a car more so the ring money went down. I just think it is cool that he would be willing to spend that much.

He is a joker, but knows better than to joke with me about diamonds.

So, I went to bluenile and built one. I picked a 2.2 asscher G VS1 and an channel set asscher and pave setting for $21306. That is always so fun even if you can''t buy it.

This may be the case, however we went a few weeks ago... and man, I haven''t seen a poorer lot of diamonds in a LONG time.... yuck!

We talked about the boobs again. He insists that he likes me just the way I am. I even grabbed myself to make cleavage and asked if he would like that much better. He said nope.

He says that after a boob job the next step is the woman leaves the man. I guess maybe the ring is a symbol of the marriage and boobs are symbol of cheating to him.

That is so funny about the boob job ... one of my friends just had an issue where she found out that her husband cheated on her with a prostitute. She immediately went out and got herself the boob job she always wanted. I asked her why she would do that - was she trying to make herself more attractive to her husband so that he wouldn''t cheat again? She said no, she did it so that if she decides to leave, she''ll be more appealing when she starts dating again ...

I figure most people think it''s fake on me (and have told me so)... so I think I''m safe!

Maybe he will get it for you! You never know. My ring is worth a lot and I never ever imagined in a million years that I would be wearing something like it.
As far as worry about it, just be careful. If you know you have it on, don''t go banging it on tables, etc. Use common sense, IYKWIM.
And I get it insured. It''s a lot depending on the price of the ring, but worth it for sure.

I hope he does get it for you though!

she can then take it or leave it.
