I''ve been looking all over the web but Google has not revealed any pertinent information. What happens when you order a ring from a jeweler? Does the order go straight to the designer? Whose diamonds do they use (the jeweler''s or the designer''s)? Who picks the diamonds to use, the jeweler or the designer? Who makes the setting? Does the designer ship the ring straight to the certification lab, or back to the jeweler? In other words, what role does a jeweler play in the whole ordering process?

Please bear with me, I am new to this!

It actually depends Mike. I had a ring from my previous setting that I bought the ring without diamonds and then chose my diamonds to set, all three of them. Then this time around I got the same exact setting since i lost my previous ring and then bought the setting w/diamonds already in it; the jewler said I could return it if I didn't like it (not all jewlers do that). My center stone was from Whiteflash which was not preset.

What are you looking for? I wouldn't just buy a center stone already set; that is probably something you want to do your homework on.

Here is my ring. The setting is the platinum with the trillions on the side. The designer already had the stones in it except the center.

Okay, tell us what you want and maybe we can help you.

okay, I found your previous thread. Did you talk to Pearlman''s about your ring. Which one was it from the Whisper collection? Did your return it?

Sorry to be nosy but I want to help you the best I can.

Hi thanks. Actually Bill has been sick the past few weeks and has not been in the store. So, I am kind of in the dark about what has been happening, except for what some of the other employees have been telling me ... but some questions are still unanswered. I just got the ring and cert today so I''m very glad, but at the same time I have some more questions! I will start another thread on this ...

Mike
