A similar question was asked, but not a very good answer was given. I'm just wondering if anyone has figured it out yet.

I was appraising a wedding ring set with those markings. I believe the rings are antique, the stones were probably worth something because they had been scavenged already. The bands were composite, divided into yellow and (white?) gold sections. The yellow gold tested to 14K on my electronic tester, but of course that only tests the surface. The white portion of the rings tested 10K white gold, but I have no way of knowing if it were platinum or palladium (...lol or nickel/zinc) being used to make the gold white.

Mainly, I'm concerned that "FL" might be some antique stamp that means it is a "gold-filled" type item. Any ideas?
