That's a bummer about the big quote. I think you really don't need too much going on with this ring though, I have to agree with the others.

the last one you posted, A LOT!!

But I think it's still gonna be in the $5-6k range, if not more. My pear 811 Adriana cost me almost $6k. And this one might be a wee bit more complicated, looks like a lot of labour would go into it. Plus, he's going to take far too long, and I'm in the process of moving up to Shanghai. Need to get this new baby first sent to me in SG before we move up. Perhaps I can consider this for my 3 carater later.

I guess I''m partial to that last one since I have a knife edge pave setting as well. You could save a bundle on the design I''m guessing if you skip all of the pave on the crown.

Well, I have tiny updates:

1) the stone has not gone to Dave yet, though I have been talking to both Dave and the vendor; and
2) I have a quotation from LM for the setting in the linky i posted, for a whopping $6,880! Well, that''s that then!

So, I think I''m going to for a simpler setting for this stone, something like a Tiffany-style knife edge. Lorelei, Ellen and Canuk-gal, I think you''re right, something this big ain''t gonna need much adornment!

. It''s gonna shine all on its own!

. In fact, I may not have it reset into any LM for the time being, due to the prohibitive costing as well as the longer time it''d take.

Later, I may reset my 3 carater to a more elaborate setting, something that would make that baby pop and look bigger. I do like them big!

Any suggestion for either of the stones? I may go for a LM later, but not right now.
