I loved that pronovias, too, but I was on a much stricter budget than their prices! I second (or 40th is more like it!) everyone on the flowy dresses because you never know how big that belly may be by 18 weeks--out of two friends of mine, at that point, one didn''t even look pregnant, and the other looked ready to pop by then, so there''s really no telling! also, as far as the flowy dresses go, i have a big beer gut, and they camouflaged that really well; i wound up going with something else, but i regretted it, so i''d definitely try some of them on! i looooove this one
You are so funny. You loooked absolutely beautiful on your wedding day!

awww, why thank you, fiery!

ya know, i''m really glad you posted this because one of my best friends is huge pregnant right now and getting married in a few months, and while the baby was due two weeks ago (they''re making her "hold it in" as long as possible because she''s diabetic, and that can cause the baby''s lungs to develop at a slower rate), i think she''s a little worried about having post-baby belly when she gets married, so seeing some of these dresses would be good for her, too.

I''d love to see you in this dress from David''s. I prefer it over the Galina dresses on your list...I love the neckline!

I can''t wait to see which dress you end up picking! Are you going to post pics for us? David''s has a belly you can try on for dress fitting purposes.

Thank you for the suggestion jstarfireb and doodle. I''m going to put those two on the list.

Robbie-I didn''t know that about the belly. That''s good to know. I will post the photos. I''m going to *try* to go tonight if not then def. on Thursday since I took the day off.

I''m sure you will find something wonderful!

I love the middle one out of the pics that you posted! I can''t wait to hear how dress shopping goes! Lol about the belly provided in David''s! What a great idea!

I only know about the belly because one of Sabine''s other BMs was pregnant (7 months I think?) for her wedding so she had to use it when ordering her BM dress.

Other posters kind of said this, but I just wanted to point out that you might not really be showing at 18 weeks. It depends so much on how you''re carrying. Around 18 weeks (sooner for some) is the point where the belly goes from "I ate a few cheeseburgers" to "I''m obviously pregnant!" in a short period of time. Although the faux belly sounds like a great tool for trying on, you have no idea what your belly will be like at that point. I therefore think you need to have a gown with some sort of adjustable waist; that way, it won''t look odd if you aren''t showing much, but you''ll still be comfortable and beautiful if you are. Empire styles will clearly accomplish that, but there may be other styles that might fit the bill.

Ooooh! I love the dress that Sunnyd suggested.

I can just imagine how flattering that would be to a blossoming, beautiful mommy to be. Ethereal, elegant ... gorgeous.

My best friend got married in the middle david''s bridal dress just two weeks ago. I went dress shopping with her and we both LOVED that dress. ITS GOREGEOUS!

Fiery, I love the first two David''s dresses, not too jazzed on the third. And if you''ll only be 18 weeks along, honestly you probably won''t be huge. You might even be able to hide it if you want!

Fiery, what do you think of this dress? I like that it has a bit more support on top. It''s from the Vineyard collection and called Kendall.

Here''s the back. (BTW, I tried on the Pronovias Clara. It''s beautiful!)

That is a very beautiful dress!

I didn''t get a chance to go shopping yesterday since I left work at 7

but I will go tomorrow.

I figured I wouldn''t be showing at all at 18 weeks. I think in the chest area I may be bigger being that no matter what happens to my body...whether I lose weight or gain weight...my face and my chest are the first to get altered

.

I''m excited to go dress shopping but also a little nervous. I''ll tell everyone how it goes!

Goldenstar-I''d love to see a pic if your friend doesn''t mind!

I really like the look of some of the dresses sold at Nordstrom.com (plus most are budget friendly). I love the way this
dress looks. I''ve seen someone on here wear it before and I thought it was just beautiful. This one is a bit shorter but still beautiful..and on sale too! This one hugs the figure a little more but still has room for the tummy. Hope this helps!

Everyone is different but I started out as a size 2 at 5''4", 107 lbs., 32D. Within 16 weeks I was wearing an F and maternity clothes.

Um...hello knockout!

This site can give you a better feel for what you might look like at different stages of your pregnancy. Obviously everyone''s different but there are usually a bunch of different women to show each week: http://pregnancy.baby-gaga.com/photos/model1689

someone on PS HAS to wear the Pronovias Clara. It''s too freakin beautiful not to be worn by someone!!!

I still cry a bit on the inside over not having worn that dress for my wedding!!
39.gif
It was my first love, as far as gowns go. It looked fab on, too--more flattering than one might think.

Anyway--you never know how much you will be showing, so of course it''s better to be on the safe (roomy) side (which you already know). I think the flowy ones are generally more flattering than the structured ones, but there are most certainly exceptions to that!

I know I''ve seen websites where people post their belly pics at certain gestation lengths... I don''t remember where, but if you do a google image search for "18 weeks pregnant belly" you''ll see that many (I''d venture to say most) women are certainly showing at that point!

They have lots and lots of pics for 18 weeks.

First off, congrats! I saw your news in the other thread (just lurkin'' around...)

I went to Davids today to pick up my dress (YAY!!!) and I saw this:

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridal_gowns_detail.jsp?stid=3727&prodgroup=92

Thought of you immediately when I saw it, it''s stunning in person. I know it''s a little pricey, but they''re having the same sale as when I first put money down on my dress and you might be able to get a few hundred off of it. It''s much more pretty in person than the picture.

I saw that one too, last week, when I was in DB looking for a BM dress. It's GORGEOUS in person!

Isn't the waistband a little too low, though? It seems like it's much closer to natural waist level than empire... so that she'd have trouble guessing what size would fit. If fiery gets something that's very clearly empire, then she can just get her size now (maybe a size up for general weight gain) and the belly can grow without causing a problem.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, though!

Awww musey! I got the pic from your thread. I might try it on just for the hell of it (was between lacy or flowy, lacy won) because it''s soooo purty!
5.gif
But your dress is on my list too. I can''t get enough Pronovias. Oy.

Fiery, I can''t wait to see what you try on!

I thought that too when I saw the pic online, but in the store, it looked more like an empire waist, that''s why I stopped to oogle it a little bit, and suggest it. I did a double take when I found it online because it looked lower...

Weird! It's definitely a high waist, but it didn't seem empire to me. It probably depends on the size/shape of the woman trying it (or the dress form they have it on--I don't know if they have one standard).

It is gorgeous, regardless... definitely worth trying on!
