I know I have been a really bad PS''r I have just been so busy (changing my mind constantly) and with Christmas... no excuses it''s the new year and I promise to be better at this!!!

What do you think of this bridesmaid dress? I tried it on yesterday at the store where I purchased my wedding gown. These are not my colours but I don''t know how to photo shop - if anyone wants to show me your photoshop skills.. the main colour will be a very dark regal/royal purple and the trim in black.

What do you think of those colours for this dress?

I would love any and all opinons... if you were a bridesmaid would you like this dress? It is an August 2009 wedding. Thanks in advance!

My hands are in the pockets not behind my back - an extra that I love about this dress!

I think it''s very pretty! (and I love dresses with pockets too

) Who is the designer?

I think it''s lovely. Simple and elegant. I''d totally wear it if I was a BM. I think the color combo you mentioned will be nice.

It''s adorable!

I think it would be a refreshing change from the horrid bridesmaid dresses I''ve had to wear.

It''s classy and fun!

Agreed. Great dress!

The dress is really cute but I would be concerned if any of your BMs were petite. As a short girl, I can say that that length would make me look like a child. Just a thought.

I think its very cute. Sounds pretty in that color too.

Only thing to be careful of is make sure your girls are OK with strapless - for those with very large busts, it can be problematic sometimes...

Very pretty!

I really like it! It''s very cute and I would enjoy it if I were a bridesmaid.

I think it''s lovely! The only thing that jumps out at me is that it looks a bit long and the length seems awkward. But, it looks like it''s also very big on you, so this probably wouldn''t be a problem on a dress that fit correctly, right? Other than that I love it!

Thanks everyone!

The dress was a size 10 and I am like a size 0 so it was way to big on me! I am about 5"4 and my BM''s are mostly that height too, maybe 5"3 at the shortest. Also none of my BM''s are overly big in the bust I am a full C / smaller D and I was fine with it - no one in my wedding party would be over a full 34-36/D. I think that the ribbon underneath helps support as well.

i was playing around with the colours and "concord" is the purple I like, but it looks really good in just plain black! We were thinking damask as a theme so black would work really well.

It is from the Dessy collection

Love it. I love the idea of a dress with pockets-how handy for the day!

Oooh, I adore the pockets; I know I''d be totally thrilled about them if I were your bridesmaid. The color and shape of the dress are very classic and pretty.

I agree with previous posters about the length. It looks to be "tea length," which can look awkward on shorter girls. My bridesmaids are having their tea-length gowns hemmed to just below the knee; it looks more flattering that way on them.

Love the dress! As another shorty, I would just make sure that it could be altered to knee length without compromising the fabric detail at the bottom.

Awesome dress!! Love the pockets

Great idea and still elegant and I think it would look good too with your colors

Very cute!!

So classy. I love it. BUT- I second what someone said about short Maids looking like little girls in tea-length dresses.

It''s a fantastic dress! Super cute and a great color!
I love the fact that your bm''s will likely be able to wear it again!

Really nice choice!!

I love it! What a beautiful dress.

Any and all? The picture is a bit grainy... so I can't see what that belt sash area is doing. It's looking to me from the photos like a cummerbund going behind a flap and the bi-color thing doesn't work for me on that dress (though I normally like bi-colored sash dressses). I can't say that I wouldn't like it if it was all one color. But the way the black sash goes behind that insert in the front area (at least that what it looks like) bothers me with the two colors.

Also it's hard to tell with the box pleats and the satin how it would look if it fit you. Right now, honestly the proportions are off and the box pleats are overwelming in that satin. But again... if it fit and was all one color, I might love it!?!

I vote for all black if you go for it. LOL. Not that my vote counts.

OK, so I had one of my BM''s try the dress on yesterday, she is a size 10 (the same as the sample) and she loved it!. The dress will be all black, not two toned. I am officially have a theme - damask and crystals!

I will have them wear pearls (necklace and earings) and maybe little black satin gloves (that just go to the wrist), also I was thinking about a black flower in the hair for the BM''s and for the MOH''s (I have two) a black flower with a little bit of black bird cage netting - very modern vintage.
