After much searching I finally found a few antique style 3 stone rings that have gold prongs to hold a yellow centerstone. two of them (Tacori) are attached below, and another is at:
http://diamondsbylauren.com/DBL_Gallery_Rings.htm (the one on the left).

Any opinions on these? Assuming equivalent sidestones, they seem to be about the same $.

I've heard that it is best to have gold setting to hold a lighter yellow diamond to make sure it looks yellow instead of dreary white. Would the settings below be sufficient for a light yellow stone? They only seem to have just the prongs in gold and not the whole basket or whatever.

any other ideas for other mountings? I can't seem to find any others. (jewelers are welcome to email or PM me with suggestions)

This one from Diamondsbylauren (DbL)? I think you can only have the setting with one of their diamonds. I like the 'hand engraving' word... given a personal aversion for simmulated engraving cast on settings. No idea about the other ones though...

The main difference between the styles you are listing is the height of the center stone: the one at DbL is set lower then the round in the picture.

Otherwise... what can I say. A prong setting will not make a very light yellow (say, U-V color) look saturated - those stones are quite light in color, for better or worse. A 'fancy light yellow' would be another story - quite a bit of color anyway and those yellow prongs do help to bring it up. Besides, the YG prongs would help as much with a fancy intense - I really think (my 0.2 opinion, nothing more) the two-tone settings are great for yellow diamonds - not matter what shade of yellow they are.

I found another at icestore.com.
