Hey all...I''m new to the forum and looking to get engaged in the next couple of months...I do not have alot of money to spend. I saw someone was selling this.....

http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/t60351-giacertifiedround080ctfvvs1forsale.html#post419620

I was wondering what you think?? They have lowered their price to $2200. Is there anything else I should be asking for in terms of questions to the person??? Any info you could provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

secondly....about the setting. On either side of the center stone, she wants 2 princess cut diamonds (2 on each side) and then Bigets. She wants it in yellow gold. I was getting prices at a couple of local jewerly stores of around $2500 just for the setting (TCW of the setting of .67). Let me know what you think. Where are good places to get cheap (pricewise) settings. Thanks

When you say bigets, do you mean baguettes???

lol yea....my mistake!

For an F, VVS stone $2,200 IS a great price. The stone may be very sparkly although the table is kind of large and the crown height looks a bit low (just using my eye and the profile photos).

If there is any way to preview the stone and you are not a stickler for cut precision, I''d consider it.

Keep in mind, if it were a really really great wholesale price a dealer would have already snapped it up. If it's close to what you would buy anyways, it's worth taking a look at. Sometimes bargains are not bargains in the long run if you buy something you really didn't want. For that price you could probably get a well cut VS2 G which would perform a lot better. Could be a nice stone though. I have a white stone cut like that. Looks good, but not like the H&A ideals
