I am interested in what you think. I was considering these two asscher cuts:

#1
2.01 H VS2 GIA - $10K
meas: 7.07x6.89x4.42
Polish: VG
Symmetry: VG
Fluor: Faint
Depth: 64.2%
Table: 65%
med-slty thk

#2
2.02 I VVS1 GIA - $8K
meas: 6.85x6.81x4.74
Polish: EX
Symmetry: EX
Fluor: Strong Blue
Depth: 69.6%
Table: 59%
med-slty thk

I was willing to purchase either stone but only #1 if it was visably better b/c it cost 25% more. However, its depth and table measurements are ideal. The account person at the internet retailer believed that #2 was a "prettier" stone over #1. I went with it, and I think that it is fine. I would just like to know your opinions.

Thanks

This is #1 - I am still trying to upload a picture of #2

Hands down #2 for me. Not a big fan of the facet patterns or the windmills in #1. Great choice with the #2.

Another number 2 fan. The middle looks brighter and is more symmetrical.

mansamunsa- congrats on getting a diamond- that''s FUN!!

I did have a question.....are you saying stone number 2 is $8000 for the whole stone- or $8000 per carat?
If someone is offering a 2carat I/VVS1 diamond for $8k, it raises a lot of red flags...the price is simply too low....

Thanks guys. This mzkes me feel really good about my purchase! The stone was $8K total.

As soon as my ring plus stone arrived, I took it to an independent appraiser who confirmed that the stone matched the GIA report and valued the ring for much more than I paid for it.

My first time and a success! I''m thrilled!
