It''s that time of the year when I usually take stock, well a bit more than usual, of our lives and think about what we''ve done, what we love and what we can do to improve?

So, I LOOOOVEEE my husband (goes without saying, he he), my parents (I think I will always think about my mom as if she''s still alive), our beloved cat Pumpkin, my family (well, some of them anyway), DH''s mom (dad passed away) and some of his siblings, our beautiful home we''ve worked hard for, my bling, my friends, including PS''ers and hopefully my new job in the new year - not necessarily in this order!!
1.gif

In the new year, we''d like to be more sociable and spend more time with friends - this is one area where we can definitely improve upon. We''d also like to give more to charities and try to donate more of our time.

We also love the fact that we enjoy travelling and have done so quite a bit in the past few years. Unfortunately, we haven''t been able travel much this year, so hopefully next year will be a different story.

There are so many things that I love about my life. In no particular order:

1. My husband. He is my best friend and I love him with all of my heart. He has always been there for me in good times and in bad and I so look forward to spending the rest of my life with him.

2. My family. We are always there for each other even though sometimes we don''t get along. I have a much better relationship with my mother since I''ve been moved out and married a few years now. I will always be a daddy''s girl and I''m grateful that he''s still with us today (was very sick when I was young). He is such a wonderful man and will be a wonderful grandfather this July.

3. My pets. I love them. I just can''t help it. They bring so much joy to my life and love me unconditionally. They are always there with some wet kisses and warm snuggles when I''m down and love to play when I''m not. What more can you ask for?

4. My job. The economy in my area is pretty scary right now and I''m so thankful to have such a great job (and boss). Even though I work full-time my boss is flexible and generous with time off and taking it easy when it comes to getting work done. He trusts me to run things when he can''t be there and lets me know that I am a valuable staff member.

There is so much more but I think these are the most important. As I stated in another post I have a tremendous amount of faith and I pray daily (even if I''ve skipped out on church for too long).

I love this question.

I love so much about my life, especially my FI, my family, my pets, my job, my literature, and my bicycle. There''s so much more that I love, but really the people that surround me and the things I have time to do when I''m on my own are what make my life so special.

I love my family. My hubby is really a great guy, not perfect, but we love eachother and he is brilliant, knowledgeable, funny, generous...

My kids are amazing and doing well. I am proud of all of them, even though they have struggles as we all do.

I love Miss Maya too.

My overall life is wonderful though I wish I felt better sometimes. I have some friends and family that I love.

L, great thread; I love what your wrote! Best wishes on your new job and please say hi from time to time.

I love that I have a wonderful marriage; I adore my hubby and he feels the same about me.

I have wonderful parents; I could not ask for more generous, loving and thoughtful parents. I have a wonderful family and adorable nephews. I feel really lucky to have such great people in my life. I am lucky to have awesome neighbors too; they feel like family too and there isn't anything we wouldn't do for each other.

I actually am a very glass half full type of person, so I have a lot that I am thankful for and appreciate in my life.

First off, my family and husband...I feel very blessed to have so many people who love me and think of me and would be there for me if I needed them, no matter what. Along with this, the good friends we have in our lives and people we love to spend time with.

Our puffy furball Portia...she's the light of our lives big time and we absolutely dote on her. There's nothing like snuggling with a warm furry body offering unconditional love and grunts.

My job...for the first time in years I actually am jazzed about where I am working and the team that I work with...and it's in my field so I'm getting even more experience for my resume and it's finally an enjoyable environment.

I adore our house...we never intended to stay here for very long but we have become quite attached and when we think about moving..either to another place here or away from this area, I think gosh I am not READY to move again. We just really 'fit' in our townhouse quite well, and it has all the elements making it a fabulous home for us.

I also have a little love affair going with my car...I've never had a new car until this year and I am enjoying it big time. Even when I have to fork over the exhorbitant monthly car payment, somehow it seems worth it. The sunroof alone is easily most of it. hehee.

Overall, I love our life the way it is. We are able to do the things we want to without really having to think twice about them. We are finally able to start traveling more and visiting places we have just talked about previously. I love eating good food, going to the ballet or the ocean for the evening. It's hard to think about changing our lives but we do talk about it (addition of a child or moving away from this area and changing things up). But overall I love most of the elements in my life that make it 'my life'. I feel very lucky.

Great question!
I absolutely love D and I''m so thrilled to be engaged to him. We''re moving in to a new house in a couple of months and he''s drawing up the plans for the different room designs so we''re so excited about that.

I adore all my pets, but especially Amber. I''m so thankful that she''s doing better now and she''s going to be our room mate when D and I move in. I couldn''t leave home without her. She''s my study buddy when I have to learn anything for my course and I just love her. D absolutely adores his Amber too and just spoils her rotten.

I love my course. I tried for so many years to get into veterinary and I''m just so thrilled to be doing it now (Well not this week as we have exams
14.gif
but normally I love it
3.gif
). I also love my job in the veterinary clinic. I used to work there full time and I work there part time now I''m in college and it''s a great clinic and I have so many friends there.

I love my family to bits. I have such generous and caring parents and two great sisters.

I also love D''s family to bits. They have always been great to me and I''ve been welcomed in to their family from day one.

I love my shoes. I know it''s a weird thing to be thankful for but I love designer shoes and I adore my collection.

I also love the fact that I can travel quite a bit. I adore going away and always try and have a holiday planned.

Also love my group of friends, especially my best mate. He''s amazing and always makes me feel better. D and him get along great and as he''s gay, I can go shopping with him instead of with D, which works out well for the two of them!

This is a really nice thread. I wish you lots of luck on your new job Lien!! I hope everything goes very smoothly and you get that salary!

Let''s see, where do I begin.

I love my husband. He is so understanding and always there for me and completely understands the insanity that is me.

I love my two girls, I am so happy to have them in my life and can''t imagine my life without them, except when they turn the house upside down.

I love my family, but my sister especially. I can always turn to her for advice and she loves me unconditionally even though we have our share of arguments.

I love my job. I can''t imagine doing anything else with my life and working with the people that I do. I am very sad that I will be possibly leaving it to work in another area soon.

I love our new house. We worked very hard to get it and we are working very hard to make it our own. I never dreamed that we would own this house and I am so glad that I went with my gut and decided to go through with it.

I have been very fortunate in my life and I am just so happy that my life didn''t turn the wrong way.

I never dreamed that we would end up with the life we have when me and DH first got married. I know things can change very fast, but I am hoping this will last forever!

Its so wonderful to hear that you have such a wonderful husband, family, pets and job. It''s the same for me, my DH has always been there and he''s been such a tremendous support for me whenever I have a problem. I know that he will always be there for me no matter what and I try to be there for him also. It''s funny what you said about having a better relationship with your mother since you moved out, as my relationship with my parents improved 1000% when I left home and especially when I left the UK to go to HK. I''t wonderful news abt yr dad becoming a grandfather this coming July. Does it mean what I think it means? Congrats!! If there''s one thing that''s missing in our lives, that''ll be not having children. They bring such a tremendous pleasure to your life (or at least that''s what I imagine they''d do to ours). Pets give unconditional love, they love you regardless of whatever. They give and give and they don''t ask for anything in return. Yes, the job thing can be very very important. You''re lucky to have such a wonderful boss. I hope that my new boss will be half as good as yours sounds.

It''s important to have faith. I think that if you can make it to church often, that''s great, but if you don''t, I don;t think that you should feel guilty (I know we feel guilty too for not going as often as we''d like). What''s most important is what''s in your heart.

I agree!! My life wouldn''t be half what it is if it weren''t for the people in my life. I also love to have time on my own to think too, it gives me chance to reflect and be thankful for everything that I have.

I love that you love yr life so much!!

DF, I don''t think there''s such a thing as perfection!

.

The fact that yr hubby is brilliant, knowledgeable, funny, generous etc. means that he''s already ahead of many of the men out there!! It''s wonderful too to hear about yr kids. I can really tell how much you truly love them from what you write. What''s life without struggles? I''m sure everyone goes through these and it''s the struggles of life that make us who we are, they''re character-building, are they not?

Have you posted a picture of Miss Maya? She sounds very cute (forgive me if I haven''t seen the thread with her photos).

Have you considered homeopathy? In fact, I''m considering going to see one abt my thinning hair. One of my friends has been seeing this person (abt all sorts of things which I can''t mention here) and she swears practically all her problems are gone. Also, what about acupuncture? Are you scared of needles? I am but I tried one and it was ok, not as horrilble and painful as it sounds.

. I love that you always make time for others and are always so cheerful and positive.

Thank you for yr lovely words and best wishes. I will certainly try my best and keep in touch with my PS friends. You guys are a part of my life now and I love that.

My hubby sounds like a really great guy too. You two make an adorable couple. It''s so great that you have loving, generous, thoughtful parents and a wonderful family. In fact, I did imagine that they would be too.

I wish that we liked our neighbours though (well, the father at least is nice!). Well, I guess we can''t have everything!

Awww, what a warm and fuzzy topic

I never take stock of the positives in my life--so this is a good opportunity to do so!

I am so thankful for the little bean growing in me right now--i feel blessed to just be able to get pregnant and stay healthy. It''s weird to love someone who''s not part of this world yet and I have yet to ''meet''

I feel nothing but admiration toward DH--he is the most loving soul and treats me like a queen everyday and I could not imagine a better friend. The fact that nearly 12 years has gone by and I love him more with each passing year makes me optomistic about the future.

I feel thankful for lattes with friends and time with my family and for living in a country like Canada that allows me to enjoy these things.

I am deeply thankful my dad''s recent heart-attack was not fatal and has resulted in some much-needed lifestyle changes...

It's so funny, Mara. When we were out to dinner tonight, I made a comment to DH that I am a "glass-half-full" kind of person! I mean I could gripe about some things in my / our life, but I choose to look at the positive side of things.

Actually, from your posts, I already could telll that you were a very glass-half-full kind of person. You always *sound" positive and upbeat. I love that about you. It is no surprise that you have such wonderful friends and family. I think anyone would be lucky to have you in their life and i mean that sincerely. And, you and Greg make such a lovely couple. I can *feel* the tremendous love that the two of you have for each other, from the photos and yr posts.

Who can not love Portia? She's such a cutie!!

It's so wonderful to hear about yr job. You've just had yr contract extended, right? WTG, girl!!
36.gif

Your house sounds wonderful. I love love love the beautiful flowers on yr patio. Any chance of more photos of the house?

I loved my first car when I bought it. Unfortunately, I don't drive in S'pore (actually, it's my fault, I'm too lazy to sit for another test to get my Singaporean licence. They don't accept my UK licence, darn!!).

Oh yeah, i forgot to mention that I LOVEEEEE food, good food and wine are soooo important to us!! How could I have forgotten to mention that, he he?!

You're a sweetheart too, Mara. I am sure many many PS'ers feel the same way.

I love my husband.
I love my daughters. Probably my happiest moments in life are when they are being sweet to each other, playing together nicely, giving each other love...etc.
I love that I am with a partner who shares my interest in traveling and a healthy lifestyle. I just joined a gym and I am working out 7 days a week now, a goal I have had for a long, long time.
I love it that I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom. It would kill me to leave them every day to go to work.
I love to cook, bake, etc. (not the drudgery kind that you have to do but creative cooking once in a while.
I love where we live (the town, not the house). We live in a suburb of Chicago. We are considering building a new house in the next few years.

I love this thread! Thanks for starting it! After what''s been a year full of highs and lows it''s nice to reflect upon the good...actually, the great!

I love my hubby! He is so perfect for me! He''s patient and kind, gentle and generous. Besides all of that he''s verrrry hunky. We''ve been together 17 years and there is still sooooo much magic between us. I love that too!

I love my precious kids, too! All three insanely smart and more importantly they are kind. The boys recently won awards at school for earning straight As, all Os - for behavior, and they were BOTH nominated by two teachers each for their responsibility! I really couldn''t be more proud of my boys. My little girl has not started grade school yet, but, I know she''ll do as well as her brothers. She has a very loving and giving nature. She loves openly and very honestly and is beyond funny. I am so proud to be the parent of these three kids. Every day I wake up thankful that I have been given the opportunity to learn from them.

I love where I live. The sky is blue almost every day and the temperature is perfect most of the time. Our house works so well for us and I love all of our neighbors.

I love my best friend of nearly 20 years. We are both busy with our families, but, when we get time for each other it''s like no time has passed since the last time we spoke. She is always a ray of sun for me.

I love my pets! My kitty and dog bring so much joy into my life.

I just truly feel blessed in all areas of my life. Even if something doesn''t go the way I think it should, it always works out for the best.

What a happy thread!!

I love my son more than I ever thought possible. Every time I see his smiling face, my day is made. I don''t remember what life was like without him. I love my husband to pieces. We''ve been together for 11 years, married for 8. He''s the only person who can make me feel like a girl. (like the giggling kind) He''s my one and only. I love my family for all their craziness. And, I love DH''s family, too. (highly unusual, but my MIL and I are good friends) I have wonderful friends who bring me great joy.

I love my house and I can''t wait til we get to buy it and call it OURS. I have big plans for a deck and a pool.

I love my little town. It''s like Mayberry.

I love 4-wheel drive winters! (which is why I live in IL)

I love that I found someone I could make a great life with. He''s so thoughtful and considerate and just plain lovable! So many exciting things are happening to us that I just feel so blessed.

Great thread...very positive and uplifting, two things of which I''m a huge fan, LOL!

What I love most about my life and am most thankful for is that I am healthy. My father always told me no matter how much money you have, no matter how many material things you own, and no matter what else you have to be grateful for, you should always be thankful to be in good health first and foremost, and that is a lesson I''ve carried with me since I was old enough to understand what he meant. I''m grateful almost every day that I have my health and am able to get up and go to work or run mundane errands or whatever, whether I''m in a good mood or a bad one I have no excuse to be completely unhappy because overall I feel good physically. Knock on wood, of course...but god forbid I''m ever afflicted with some life-threatening illness I will know that for at least 30 years I was healthy and happy about that.

I love my husband and family, that kind of goes without saying but it''s so true. I wouldn''t be where I am right now without all of them. I would like to consider myself a "self-made woman" but that would be a complete fib...I would be half the person I am today without everyone who''s loved me enough to steer me in the direction of my best interests.

I love the home DH and I have made together...it''s cozy without being too small for us, it''s welcoming to friends and family, and it''s always enough for now, until we simply outgrow it and feel like we "have" to move. It''s always nice to dream and think about bigger and better, but for the most part we''ve settled in and love our current circumstances.

I love our dogs, although our first is seriously neurotic and has epilepsy which was diagnosed this past year...he''s DH''s favorite little boy and always will be, and my Daisy is my sweet girl...they make me smile even when I''m at work and not around them, I can just relate a story about them and it will send me into a fit of laughter at how silly and cute they both are. They''re definitely our "children," for now, and probably always will be like our "first-born" even if the day comes that DH and I start a human family!

And I really, really, really love my diamond e-ring and wedding band a LOT. Today I left for work and realized I''d left them on my ring-holder on the piano...I felt so naked without them all day. I put them back on tonight when I got home and it was like re-uniting with an old friend for the first time in years. Sheesh! Jewelry has always been a love of mine, but I never imagined before I got engaged and married that I would have such a connection with a few pieces of carbon and some circles of platinum!

I love all of my friends, of course, the unique relationships I have with all of them, and the ways those r-ships have shaped my life. I sometimes imagine myself outside my life looking in, and it''s a good feeling to know that if I weren''t me I would be a little envious, you know? I think I''m pretty fortunate in that I have friends who come from all walks of life and I have been able to maintain those friendships over a fair amount of time now...so many of my friends are long-distance but for the most part I feel like every time I talk to those people it''s like we pick up right where we left off and there isn''t much awkwardness, just happiness for the most part to hear how they are doing and share my news as well.

I guess most of all I love that I am able to appreciate all of the above and see the positive (because trust me, there is plenty of negative in between all the blissful happiness that I''ve just described) for what it''s worth. If you can''t see that at least you have SOMETHING in the glass, why bother looking at it in the first place, right?

Phoenix, as needle phobic as I am I actually loved acupuncture. Not sure how much it did, but I loved it. I even had that cupping thing done, left awful marks but it was neat. Then my girl left, had a baby, so I am waiting to see if someone else replaces her.

I love my kids. They make me nutty sometimes, but I am a momma bear and love them to the ends of the earth. I do not condone all they do, and I hold them accountable when they misbehave, but they are great. My oldest came in second in his track meet tonight, ran almost two miles in about ten minutes, which is great! My middle got all A''s and B''s on his report card, and had amazing comments from his teachers, after a lackluster year last year. I am proud of his efforts. All of my kids are kind and thoughtful, if not always to mom, I know they make me proud when I am not there.

Hubby is all that, can be tough sometimes but is good and honorable. Plus he "gets" me more than he likes to admit!!!! (and I am not that tough, but hey, not that easy either!)

I have three really great best friends, and a nice circle of close pals. My mom and I get along well, after some struggles back in the day, and I have a great step sister and niece.

I have my girl, Maya, who snuggles me and is my sweet girl. She is a Chessie, I think there might be some photos of her, if not I might have a couple to post if Andrey will help me out!

Love a happy thread!!

Have to start with hubby, he''s been my rock since day one. We just celebrated our 21st anniversary but have been together for 25. It''s been a great journey, he''s a loving husband, and an amazing father. I am so blessed to have found him.
Which brings me to our children. They are our hearts., We adore them and relish the time we have with them, since they are away at school.

Building memories in Nantucket has been great. Having the new house has been such fun. Love the tradition of it all, and being together.

Friends, we are blessed with a close circle. They bring us such joy.

Life is good....

First and foremost, I am ALWAYS grateful for my health. I am in fantastic health and God willing (and healthy habits from me) will stay that way as long as possible. Because I''m healthy I''m here to enjoy the people I love in my life.

My family....that is my husband, my children, my dad, my brother, my stepmom, my SIL, my niece & nephew.

My friends, the "other" family that makes everything in life worthwhile. I''ve had my core group of friends since I was quite young & they mean the world to me. 3 of my newer girlfriends (last 6 years) are my new "sisters" and while we may not have as many years, the connection is quite strong & I would do anything for them.

My doggie. She makes me smile and is so in love with my kids...I love and appreciate her.

I love that my dh and I are hopeless optimists, and that we find the funny in everyday life and laugh a lot. We do a pretty good job of not taking little stuff seriously and enjoying ourselves along the way.

I love that I can afford to stay home with my kids.

I love that its not that so much that I have people who love me, but that I am lucky enough to have people to love.

I love that that last sentence could be someone''s quote! Very well said, Divergirl!

Right now, the thing I love the most about my life is that MY MASTERS CLASSES ARE OVER and I did really well in both. No more 25 page papers, long nights working on Powerpoints, or sitting through lectures and presentations after teaching all day, woo hoo!

In general, I love so much about the life I am leading today.

I love my family and friends so much. They are incredible people and I am blessed to have such a great support network of people around me for everything. I am especially grateful for my mother''s good health after her cancer diagnosis, treatments, and surgery earlier this year threw everything into turmoil - I don''t know what I would do without her.

I love my man, too. I didn''t realize how great life could be so soon after a broken engagement until I met him this summer. Having him in my world is a daily reminder that I did the right thing with all of my decisions of last winter, though they were heartwrenching at the time.

I love my critters, even my crazy cat when he bites my feet at 2:00 AM. My animal pals make me happy and lift me up.

It''s hard to say I love my job this year - I am teaching a really tough group of 7th graders. What I do love is working with a great staff and getting the opportunity to form new partnerships with coworkers this year and finding that I am up to the challenges I face every day with these kids.

I also love that I''ve been able to make this year a true "Transformation Year" and have managed to handle first time homeownership, leasing a nice car, taking three masters classes, and spending more time pursuing hobbies. I feel like a brand new person ready and raring to go into 2008 with a fresh outlook on everything.

I feel like I am in such a good place in my life right now. Honestly every year seems to get better and better.

I love my husband. I feel so much closer to him now that we have a daughter. He is so generous and kind. He is such a great dad and I love seeing how in love he is with his daughter.

I love my daughter. I am so grateful that she is healthy and thriving. Even when covered in spit and running low on sleep I just love being with her. Like Diver I love that I can stay home with her (I do work some from home but that is by choice).

I love my family, my parents, inlaws, siblings, SIL. They are great people and I am lucky to have their support.

I love my cats. One is curled up next to me as I type. They are sweet and give us so much love and entertainment.

I love our house. It is nicer/larger than anything I thought we would have at our age. It is a great neighborhood and I look forward to staying here for a long, long time.

Oh, there are so many, many things to love about life!!

I love that I have a husband who loves me through everything. I love that he can make me smile in an instant. I love that he listens when I need him to, and he hugs me when I tell him I want to be left alone. I love that he knows me better than anyone else.

I love our little pets. I swear, they make life so wonderful!! You can come home from having a horrible day at work, and a little sideways grin from a puppy can wipe it all away. It''s great!!

I love that family is never more than a phone call away. I love that we are able to visit family as often as we do.

I love that my best girlfriend and I can have three hour conversations where we talk about nothing at all and Paul laughs and interjects along the way.

I love that I''m able to voice my opinions and views without being ridiculed and targeted. I love my country.

I love the changes of the seasons. I love that every season has something to boast.

I love that we''re going to work on growing a family. I cannot wait to be a mommy-to-be!! How exciting!!!! Dramatic, but exciting!

I love that we have so many pictures from throughout our lives. Curling up and looking over memories is one of my favorite things to do.

I love knowing what I do for a living makes a difference in peoples lives. I love knowing the same thing is what drives Paul''s passion for his career. I love that about him. I love a man with a soft heart.

I love that I finally feel like I''m settled into a home, a family. Something I''ve not really felt since I was a kid living with my parents. It''s a nice cozy feeling to come back to.

I love a good nap. Man oh man, do I love a Sunday afternoon snooze. They rock!! Especially when you wake up to a wet puppy nose rubbing against your toe.

I love thinking about our home. I love thinking that we may actually decide on one some day (soon would be nice!!).

I love that my husband usually drives when we go out. It''s nice to be in the passenger seat (makes for another great nap, by the way!!).

Considering the severity of my car accident 2 1/2 weeks ago, I love that I''m alive. I love that everything in my life seems a little more in focus...that just thinking about this topic and reading through your responses made my heart leap and jump and reduced me to happy puddles.

Because I know, in that moment, when I honestly thought it was my time to go, that my thoughts were on my darling husband...and as scared as I was, I was oddly grateful that I had been given the gift of him for the last year, and that was more happiness than most people have in a lifetime.

OMG, I am totally welling up here. Schmoopie!

Thank you for this topic.

EVERYTHING!

Every good experience and person in my life is just that; and every bad experience and person in my life has been a lesson. There is nothing that I can''t find the value in having experienced, encountered, etc.

The thing I love most is my husband. He is such an amazing, loving man. He is truly my best friend, biggest fan, and most honest and helpful critic (reminding me to take a step back every once in a while and just breath), and I am so lucky to have him.

Then comes my parents, my sister, her hubby and my adorable nephew. Such an amazing, wonderful group of people. I can''t even put my feelings for them into words (and I don''t think I''ve said enough about my husband either!).

After that comes my kidlets at school. I learn something new from them every day. They inspire me, push my limits and make me think. I love being challenged.

The list goes on and on....as I tell my husband regularly (whenever he says "I love you") "Lucky me." I am truly lucky.

I am lucky to have awesome neighbors too; they feel like family too and there isn't anything we wouldn't do for each other.

I very rarely post, but the thought of posting what I love about my life kind of gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.

I love my husband more than I ever imagined it was possible to love someone. He has been my rock during the most fragile of times. I love that he is a "tell it like it is" kinda guy and I definitely need to be told how it is sometimes. He isn''t afraid to speak his mind nor does he care what others may think of him, and I admire this quality in him very much.

I love my parents and step-mum to bits and my two younger brothers are the best brothers anyone could ever ask for. I simply adore my nephew and niece and wish that I was able to spend more time with them. I should also add that there are times when I am thankful that I live on the other side of the world to my family, hehe. I also love my mother-in-law, father-in-law, and brother-in-law. They have become such an integral part of my family given that I live so far from my own immediate family.

I love the friends that I have made here. They are definitely keepers and I love that they would do anything for me, just as I would for them.

I love that I made the right decision to stay in school and not give up during a moment of weakness and stress. I love that I am afforded the opportunity to go to school and follow my dream.

I love love love our new home, and as selfish as it may sound, I love that we didn''t have to settle for something that we were mildly satisfied with. We saw the house, loved it, placed an offer and got lucky in that it was accepted. It just feels like home

.

I love that we have been able to travel both independently and together. We definitely plan on seeing more of the world together.

This certainly got a little lengthy. As sad as I am to admit it, I don''t often take the time to think about what it is that I love the most in my life, so thank you Phoenix for the reminder
