It''s a 1.25/H/VS1 stone.

The cut advisor gives it a 4, which is low, but I am wondering if the values in % for Crown and Pavilion are just inaccurate. I got a great price for it ($5600), do you think it''s worth it?

I guess I should have posted the dimensions here:

Total Depth: 62.0%
Table Width: 58%
Crown Height: 14%
Pavilion Depth: 44%
Girdle Thickness: Medium, Faceted

Polish: Execellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Culet: None

the link below is to a JPG scan of the EGL certificate.

Hello :) It would be better if you could post the crown and pavilion angles, rather than the percentages - as these tend to be rounded off.

The angles will give a more accurate assessment of the cut.

Welcome AF!

EGL normally always use percents which are said to not be as accurate as angles, as Cleo mentions. You could request a Sarin report be done on the diamond as that would give more detailed measurements, but I take it you have already bought this diamond? Are you happy with it, or are you not sure? Can you give us some more details please?

Thanks for the replies!

Yes, I have already purchased the diamond, but I have about 3 weeks to return it/exchange it for a full refund. I like the stone, but since this is my first purchase, I want to be sure that I am getting good value for my money.

Specifically, I am concerned because the stone scores lower (4) on the cut advisor than some other stones I was looking at. I bought it because it fit my bill with regards to cut/color/clarity/carat/price at the time, but now I think that I would rather spend more if this stone''s brilliance/scintillation/fire leaves more to be desired.

I am taking it for to an independent appraiser early next week to have it appraised as well. Will post the results to this thread.

Unfortunately, I don''t have a Sarin report for the stone. How much difference can a fraction of a percentage make to the advisor''s score even if the percentages are rounded off? Is it a lot?

Let me know if you need more details.
