My husband just ordered this for me. And I wanted your thoughts on this? I love the AV cushion and the AV rounds. Since this was more in the price range of what I am looking for (since nursing school is so expensive.) I thought this might be good for a year or so. Can anyone give any feedback on the measurements or so?

Thanks.

I think it looks beautiful :) It is a lovely stone, please tell us what you think of it in person!

I think that the stone is very pretty, but could look somewhat small on your hand. You might want to visit a local jeweler and see the size of this stone and whether you will be satisfied with it. How it looks will also depend on the size of your finger ;))

Thank you. :) I )KNOW I won't be happy happy with the size (my original diamond was a litle over 1 carat radiant and that was going small on the finger lol). But I lost that and so the hubby finally convinced me to just spend a little bit at a time so that I can at least have a diamond on my finger. I think he thinks that I'll crack and upgrade faster than I plan because the size will get to me.

My finger is a size 5.25.

I think if you were used to a 1ct radiant.... which measures.. 7x5mm approx. this stone will feel small. But you can't argue with your husbands train of thought...if this is what you are spending now- it's a great stone (great stone in general!) If have the lifetime guarantee so a year or months or weeks :naughty: down the road when you are will to put more money into your stone you can trade in and upgrade in size.

congrats on the stoe! it's lovely!
different cut diamond sizes...

I had a 1/2 carat or maybe it was like a .40 carat as my original engagement ring. I upgraded to a larger stone. I just got my original engagement ring out to clean it and I can't believe how very small it looked to me.

What about getting a beautiful eternity ring/ wedding band, you know with diamonds all around it, then getting the larger engagement ring later?

I think this is all about YOUR preferences. If you know you will not be happy with the size- but do want a diamond back on your hand at the 700-800 price range, and you love th AVR and AVC stones, this will be a great option. The key here is the lifetime guarentee on the stone so when you have more money to put out for your diamond you will be able to trade in this stone for the full purchase price and upgrade by putting down the extra money.

Do what makes you happy.

Thanks everyone.

I probably will crack sooner rather than later. :) It is just HARD for me let go of money all at once. This is why the lifetime guarantee was so important to me. GOG was really great. The hubby also had a friend recommend GOG when chatting about diamonds. He thought it was a good sign about the company that I and his co-worker both liked the diamonds and service.

I will be getting tomorrow and I can't wait. It'll be small but maybe I'll upgrade for my birthday in March!!!

It' s a beautiful stone with an amazing cut...don't focus on upgrading, focus on the uniqueness of your new diamond.

Your new diamond is beautiful  Congrats :appl: (come back soon with pictures :Up_to_something: ).

Thanks everyone.

I got the ring today and it was small. :) But the funny thing is that I look at it and think it is absolutely adorable. I do really love the August Vintage cut. This was the first time I have seen this in person and it is even prettier than on the web.
