Will you sell it? Store it? Donate it to charity? Trash it?

i got it preserved. it''s in a box. a rather large box

I''m going to sell that baby, and go shopping! :)

I''m trashing it

I plan to turn mine into a halloween costume for costume parties. I''ll go as the "butchered bride" or something and put fake blood on it. At least I''ll get to wear it again!

Since my dress is colored, I will probably wear it to any really formal events, if I ever have any. After all the time, effort and pain I went to to get this sucker, I am going to be buried in it!

I''ve thought about donating it, but I''m not sure. I think I''m get married first, then I''ll decide what to do.

Mine is currently hanging in my closet (cleaned but not preserved). I''ll probably keep it for my kids to play dress up.

I''m torn between trashing it and saving it to show my kids and grandkids. Maybe I''ll get a different dress to trash...

I have no idea. I''ll probably want to hold on to it for a year or so, and then I''ll donate it. I just got a call yesterday that it''s in, so I''m going to go for my first fitting a week from tomorrow, I''m so excited!

I vote for the "trash the dress" idea. It is likely that your kids and grandkids will not want to/not be able to wear it and you might have some fabulous memories and pics if you take your photographer or even a friend to a cool location like a park or beach or forest for some once in a lifetime pics.

I guess now that I think about it, if you didn''t do too much damage like rolling in the mud or soalking in fountains, you could also get it cleaned and donate it! Then you would get many uses out of it.

I have no idea. I don''t feel particularly sentimental about it, so I really want to sell it. The problem is that it is now "Zoe-sized" and it might be hard to sell.

I was a two-dress bride.

The one I got married in is still hanging on a hanger in my guest bedroom's closet.

I drowned the other one.

And another.

Nothin''. 9 years later, it''s hanging in a bag in the closet, hasn''t even been cleaned. But, in my defense, my mom made her own wedding dress, and then disassembled most of the satin to line baby blankets for my brother and I. I loved the idea and "thought" I''d do that, too. But, it took a long time to get pregnant, and turns out an even LONGER time to actually MAKE that blanket.

I had mine cleaned and preserved, and then I sold it on Craigslist about a year and a half later - I don''t ever intend to be that heavy again, and I used the money to buy a new digital camera I''d been really wanting and I''m perfectly happy with the exchange

I forgot to add that I sometimes put mine on for the heck of it--usually to do random chores. As I learned from Friends, chores are more fun in your wedding dress. When the dress first came in, before I had my first fitting, I would watch TV in it.

I still need to have mine cleaned and some of the bustles fixed.

It''s still hanging on the back of the closet door in the kids room at my mom''s house. She said she wants to get it cleaned and preserved but I don''t really know what the point is. I''m very adamant that I didn''t want to sell it or share it with anyone though. I''m very proprietary with it, but I don''t really understand why.

Mine is pseudo preserved (I opened the box that it was poorly preserved in and re-wrapped it and made the box smaller since it was unnecessarily big) and in my closet. I see the box every time I open my closet door and for some reason, it''s a comforting feeling.

Later on, I might have the dress made into a christening gown or two, or I might let my child play dress up, or I might save it so that my children can incorporate the dress material somehow...or I might save it and hang it up as decor when we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary :) I wish I had a big enough heart to donate it, but I love my dress and it took months to create, so for now, I''m happy where it is and happy to not have any specific plans for it.

I would love to do a trash the dress session in mine, but I think it has to be sold to recoup some of its cost. I hope someone will love the style as much as I did in a year from now.

Mine was also my Mom''s and my sisters. It''s now fifty years old. My daughter and I plan on having an annual "wedding dress party" with our friends where we dress up in our gowns and drink white wine. Except for the girls who are pregnant at the time. It''s motivation to maintain our weight.

Oh my, Miracles, that is the best idea! I wish I had friends who would do that with me. But not a single one of my married friends has taken the dress things seriously. One grabbed something at David's (she looked great though!), another only got a dress at all cause her mom insisted, and she doesn't own any other dress. Period. And the third one got something that happened to fit her at a Charity Shop.

I love NEL's idea of the bloody bride, and I'm so jealous of Lauren's 'trash the dress pictures!'

Well, as of this morning, I no longer own mine. I sold them on eBay and recouped about 60% of the cost, after ebay fees. Of that, a chunk will go the Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of the four ladies I know affected by it this year. One passed away just before our wedding. I had been hoping she would officiate.

The rest will go to our mortgage.

The thing I like best is that the lady who bought the Stephen Yearick gown was SO excited. She e-mailed me 3 times, and was just over the moon about it. I gather she's marrying for the second time, and was feeling depressed about not finding anything flattering for a woman of her age. She sounds very nice, and it makes me so happy that she was able to find something she could afford that is so beautiful and classy!

May she take 10 times the joy from it that I did.

Plus, now there's extra space in my closet!

So, my closet wins
Our mortgage wins
The nice lady who bought the Yearick wins
The nice lady in MN who bought the Nicole Miller wins
and the Breast Cancer Foundation wins.

I'm very happy!

Don''t know. Good question though. I doubt I''ll sell it. And I won''t want to keep it forever. So I''ll probably just donate it. I can''t see myself trashing it though. I do like the halloween costume idea though... I may do that. Murdered bride huh? Really like it.

I was thinking that I would sell mine but I''m not sure how much a liancarlo will fetch, it depends.

Part of me would love to store it and keep it for my kids to see but the practical side says I should try and sell it.

I kept mine, but I really don''t know why. I also kept my prom dresses

. I did a massive cleanup last year, but couldn''t toss any of them.... for sentimental reasons, I guess.

Our 12 year old grandgirl wanted to try them on so I told her to go ahead, but that they might fall apart and not to worry about it. Amazingly, none of them could be zipped up! She''s not overweight at all, but I know I had a tiny waist and not much in the way of boobs. After she''d tried them on, I could have tossed them, but there''s another grandgirl who is built like a twig. She''s only 7, but someday, she might want to give them a try.
