What color are your eyes?

My eyes are hazel. When I was born I had blue eyes, and then when I was a little older I had such dark brown eyes they looked almost black. The last 6 or 7 years they''ve turned into a light brown/greenish/gold color. Depending on the light sometimes they look golden brown or bright green. I kinda like them.

DH has green eyes and I love them.

I love green eyes. TGuy has lovely, chocolatey eyes.

Mine are brown (surprise!) but not even a nice rich brown. They are as blah as brown eyes can get. Like ick muddy murky water brown.

Amelia''s eyes came out slate gray/blue. I know that''s the universal new baby color but I thought all asian babies (or babies with asian in them) came out with brown eyes. And with her reddish auburn hair and blue eyes, I felt like I was holding someone else''s kid for sure.

I was really happy when her eyes turned brown.

Our nephew was born with blue eyes, and they turned brown around 1 yr old.

I have very dark brown eyes that look black. I actually put black when I applied for my driver''s license, but the lady said you have brown eyes and make me change it.

I know there was another thread like this a while back, but with the search function down, I can''t find it. Anyways, my eyes are greenish-blue with orangeish-brown in the middle. Here''s a pic.
my brother has eyes like this - his eyes don''t have any green though and the brown is less yellow, more taupe. I''ve seen a lot with a yellow sunburst in the middle but his eyes are definitely brown and blue with no green or yellow at all.

I have dark brown eyes.

My older sister has green eyes.

My younger sister has blue/gray eyes.

FI has brown eyes but one of them has one quarter where there''s no pigment. It''s really weird and it freaked me out when I met him. I would say 95% I stare at that spot when I''m talking to him.

So if there is no pigment, is it just black there? What''s it look like?? I''m intrigued!

FWIW, I''m sad that since DH has brown eyes as do his parents...which means my kids prob have zero chance of getting my baby blues

I''m guessing Tacori thought this was offensive, but I understand. When I was younger and I thought of having children, I imagined looking into eyes that were like my own - but I have none of that going on here.

I didn''t mean to be offensive...I mean, its obviously something I have no control over. And I love my husband, and he loves my eyes. He has stated as well that thanks to genetics its too bad chances are our kids can''t get my eyes since he loves the color of them. Clearly I find nothing wrong with brown eyes, and did not mean that.

Such gorgeous eyes everyone has! I never knew that your eyes could change well into adulthood until mine went from my childhood blue to the hazel/green/whatever they are now. I can''t wait to see what color my nephews settle into.

Not necessarily! Both my parents and THREE of my grandparents have brown eyes - my maternal grandmother has hazel eyes. But I wound up with blue. Genetics are a funny thing! Eye color can be influenced by multiple genes, and you never know how they will be inherited.

As much as I''ve always wished to have blue eyes, they are brown

However, my husband has blue eyes, so he says I do ''have'' blue eyes, I just get to look at them

Love this!

I know, right?! But then I go "But it''s not the saaaame, I want them in my body!" .. to which he responds "But then you don''t get to look at them!"

lol

I have a light brown eyes...sometimes they look hazelish outside
my dh has pool blue eyes ....both ds and dd have my dh eyes

my grandmother had violet eyes and they were STUNNING to look at. my mom has green and her brother and 3 sisters have blue or green as well. my dads side all have blue or hazel eyes

red eyes sound demonic

Blue/grey eyes here, but not in the change-color way ... my inner irises are pale blue, and my outer irises are dark grey. Add in physiological mydriasis (abnormally enlarged pupils, which make me light-sensitive, give me great night vision, and make me look a little stoned in perpetuity), and I''m given to understand it can be a little unusual looking at times.

I have dark blue eyes. DH has green eyes and his tend to change slightly with what he wears.

My eyes are a very common dark brown and so are my fiance''s.

I love really dark brown eyes. They seem fathomless. Gorgeous.

So how did I end up with a grey eyed man?

Thought I''d share a pic as well.

Yes to this. My fathers side...a solid wall of blue eyes. My mothers mostly all but my grandpa's were hazel and my grandpas were blue. My sister and I both have green eyes!

I love the eye pictures!

Circe--Your eyes are a really beautiful color. I don't think I've ever seen eyes that color before--wow!

Here are my doodie brown eyes.

(And my horribly unruly eyebrows--yikes. Nothing like a super closeup.) DH says they (my eyes) look red sometimes, but I've never seen that.

That happened in DH''s family as well! Dad has brown eyes, mom has blue eyes. You''d think at least one of their four kids would have brown, right? Nope! Hazel, blue, seafoam green and emerald green with a big spot of brown (maybe 1/3 of her eye?).

My family of 5 is all brown (I''m the darkest), but 2 of my grandparents have blue eyes, so we''ll see if any blue shows up in our kids!

Haven we are eye twins!

ETA: Dangit, I shrunk that pic! Oh well. Extreme closeup!

True, all DH's family have gorgeous brown eyes except his grandmother [blue] our kids: Girl has my shade of blue, Boy hazel: blue/ brown.
Pictures taken when they were babies, DD's never changed:

Baby two has more brown now...about 30%:

I have one brown and one hazel eye. One of my best friends has the exact same combo - now, what are the odds of that?!

Also, interestingly I was recently looking at info regarding eyes changing color. I'm pretty sure eyes don't change color in a short period of time - such as if you are crying or you change your mood, etc. I believe it all has to do with the type of lighting that is reflecting off of your eyes. People with lighter pigments can appear to have color changes easier because the reflecting colors have a greater impact. My sister in law used to say her eyes changed color and we did some research and found out it actually wasn't possible. I think a distinct change in eye color over a short period is an indicator of illness actually...does anyone have info otherwise? Please share if you do, she would love to see it, I think she's still not convinced!

Sunny, your DH has gorgeous eyes

Yours are pretty beautiful too

My dad has blue eyes, so I know I have the gene hiding in there. Not sure about DH''s family - his immediate family members have brown eyes, but I don''t really know about extended family. I hope we have a blue eyed kid! Or green. I always thought my red hair would''ve looked so pretty with green eyes.

Sunny--Whoa! We are eye twins! And we both have full, dark eyebrows too. Funny.
Now I''ll have to stop calling them doodie brown.

Thanks elro! His eyes are like water, with the lighter blue flecks. Looks like waves!

I''m jealous of your eyebrows! Mine are kind of full, but pretty pale. They just kind of disappear unless I color them darker with makeup

He has Sectoral Heterochromia. There''s just a portion of one of his eyes that is a different color. He has an identical twin brother who doesn''t have this condition. He, and all his brothers (3) all have INCREDIBLY thick lashes. It''s like they have an extra row or something. He''s always complaining that he can''t find sunglasses that his lashes down constantly hit when he blinks. He finds zero sympathy from me.

This IS NOT a picture of his eye, but it''s an example of what sectoral heterochromia looks like. His eyes are brown and with one section that is kind of green. It''s not as defined as the eye in this picture.

HeterochromiaEyepicforps.jpg

My eyes are hazel (brown/amber/green). My mom has blue eyes, and my dad has mostly brown eyes with a teeny bit of green in them, and my brothers and I ended up with varying shades of hazel eyes.

DH has blue/green/gray eyes, so I have no idea what our future children''s eyes will look like.

Here are mine. Haven, I think the colour is similar to yours. They change slightly from reddish brown to chocolate brown.

Figure maybe I should post a picture as well, since I started the thread. Red-eye is a curse for green eyed people. Camera flash is the arch nemesis! And please excuse the blood shotness
