What ballpark is the cost of a setting like x, y, and z...

Hi, I posted an "introduction and questions about granny bling" which is at the top of the second page if you want to refer to it. I like several of the setting suggestions people made and though I know there will be a huge range I was hoping someone could give me a ballpark on what sort of money we need to save up before approaching the project of resetting both stones.

For the OEC (I think it is about 1.4carats) I like the Emilya, the Anne Marie, halo trilogy half moons, maybe a cushion shaped halo since they are both round diamonds , by Victor Canera or the singlestone settings that Diamond Seeker suggested, especially the second two in both sets of pictures.
Would a halo on a 5 ct stone be too much? As you can see from my pictures I have many small diamonds, maybe they could use that for the halo, though my guess is that someone like VC likes to work with the exact right stones that he finds for your stone. What could I do with all my little guys (or carpet diamonds if you read my first post).

The 5 carat stone reset is the priority since my Ering/1carat has a home versus the 5 ct setting which is uncomfortable for my finger and though I know if could be resized it just isn't my style. I want to SEE that stone. Some people have suggested that I give it a temporary home in a solitaire setting so I can get a sense of what wearing a ring like that would be on a daily basis to help decode of this is an ering upgrade or a special occasion cocktail ring. Pretty sure I'll wear it every chance I get. Like when the kids go to bed- much as I do with my tiara- DH always knows I have had a rough day when he comesp hppome to find me in my tiara.
What would a temporary setting cost? Would it be possible for them tpo save the current 5ct setting so I could have something else put in it for my mom given the sentimental value? Or will getting the stone out of the bezel setting require maiming it? Maybe the old setting could become just a band with the bezel removed completely? Not a must but an idea that might take the sting out of me resetting it.

Lastly is there a way for me to save pictures to a file on PS so that when I am ready to get serious with this I can refer to them? I don't seem to be able to save the pictures, I finally started just bookmarking the posts but a year from now the links may no longer be viable. I've already lost track of a VC I saw and fell in love with- a custom job that was posted in the last few days if anyone members it with French stones along the sides, oh well. I. I've close enough to make a trip to LA so I would probably bring my finger and stone and ask VC to make a recommendation. I saw I another ring (maker unknown) on here that was unreal, it had rose gold along with white and maybe yellow as well and they all twisted seamlessly together as though the artist used nothing but their hands to produce the ring- it was gorgeous and I wish I had a way to recall those posts that are here one minute and pages away the next. Thanks for reading. I'll include some pictures of my OEC. E ring, two wedding bands and 5 ct granny bling in case you don't want to find my intro post. Will my fat fingers make even the 5 ct stone look not so big?

Here is the 5 carat thread link, I think you like Acinoms 5 carat Victor Setting with French cut sides, or SB's 5 carat cushion in a Victor Canera halo. Mine is a 5+ carat 8 prong deco solitaire also made by Victor. Any of these 3 settings would look great with your stone. Victor uses his own melee (small stones) for his halos. You need to email Victor and any of the other vendors you like (like Singlestone) give them the specs or pics of the stones you want set and refer to one or two of the settings you like and they will give you a quote. Alternatively taking the stones to Victor and asking his opinion is another great idea.

Looks like you figured out that turns was somehow what autocorrect got from photos- thank you for posting. I really like the Emilya setting and emailed him about the possibility of that for my large stone and the VC Art Deco baguettes and pave halo (looks sort of like a flower or a star) for my current e ring to wear on the right. How did your stone get named tranny? What is it a transition from or too?- if that isn't a personal question- ..??? Your eight prong is beautiful as well. Can I ask what makes the eight prong Art Deco? Is it the detailed cathedral? I'm new here so I'm trying to learn all of the terms and categories. Thank you for the beautiful pictures.
Do you find yourself wearing both rings on many days or do you usually wear one of them as an Ering and the other for special occasions?

Arkie. *faint* wow.

tranny stands transitional cut diamond. Not quite an Old European Cut but not a Modern Round Brilliant either.

I have an Emilya for my 5ct ACC (antique cushion cut). Expect to pay in the 6-8k category for that setting in that size range pending what type of melee (full or single). I believe the french cut setting that Acinom has starts around 7k for a 5ct diamond pending dimensions.

Several vendors make these style settings so it several factors come into play. THe Emilya is actually a knock off of the Harry Winston The One ring. Google Charmy's guide to making a Harry WInston Inspired halo. She breaks all the vendors down with differences so you can make the best choice for you.

Here is mine. Thank you SB621 en Arkieb for referring to my ring.
My ring is the 'Sophia' by Victor Canera with french cut sides. Frenchies are rare and thus rather expensive but for me it is totally worth every penny. Expect to pay approximately 8.000$.

Good luck making your decision. Victor is great to work with by the way and his level of craftmanship is extremely high.
