what are your thoughts on these diamonds.... i am new to the diamond seen and have found a lot of great info. on this site - you guys rock!!!

Both are too deep, which causes a couple of problems. First, the stones face-up smaller than their wieght, so they look like a smaller diamond. Second, and more importantly, the diamond cannot reflect light well, so you end up with a dark and lifeless stone. Depth should generally be 60-62% for a well cut stone. Besides depth and table, you also need complimentary crown and pavillion angles so that the light rays reflect and refract to create the sparkle and scintillation diamonds are known for.
