Hi DF!

I''m glad you asked!!! DH finally has the day off and we will eat BBQ for sure.....if it stops raining, from Hurricane Alex, then we might cook out at home.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA....LAND OF THE FREE, HOME OF THE BRAVE!

My mom and I are going to see Phantom of the Opera. My dad died three years ago on the third so we like to do something fun and out of the ordinary on that weekend. Last year I got a tattoo in his memory, not exactly what my mom had in mind, but I digress.

We wanted to drive to Canada because my younger one is afraid of loud sounds (including fireworks) but since we have a baby kitteh in the house... Stay in the house, play with the kitten and clean the paper mess on my table. Decent plans, I think.

We're going to our Jersey Shore house this morning for a long weekend and coming back to NYC Tuesday. Hoping for lots of cycling by the ocean.

Happy July 4th everyone and happy birthday America!!

We''ll be firing up our smoker and doing some Bar B Que.
We like to do extra hamburgers ribs and steaks and immediately put them in the freezer. They are then ready for a quick meal and taste just like fresh.

well - there is an event here for the expats on july 3 and another family and us are going to BBQ and then check it out... on the 4th? No clue lol We may do something on our street but there''s no formal plan yet. May be 2 days of BBQ

Were going to Pismo Beach, hoteling instead or RV''ing this time. Spend some time with DH''s parents who live in a nearby city, and bringing son #4''s girlfriend with us. It should be an interesting weekend!

Tomorrow morning (leaving at 6am) we are driving across the mountains to the eastern side of the state for my grandparents'' annual Fish Feed (we''ll get there early to help set up). Grandpa & the guys around a big deep frier outside frying cod, salmon, onion rings, and mushrooms. Grandma and the women battering stuff for them to fry and filling a table with all sorts of yummy salads (potato, pasta, brocolli.... nothing leafy), home-grown veggies, and assorted desserts.

Beer, homemade wine, juice, soda...
Weather is currently sunny and about 72

We''ll drive home later that afternoon (after stopping for icecream at the little parlor downtown

Sunday (the 4th) we are going to a celebration some friends are having. Lots of food (BBQ), beer, live jazz band.... Then we''ll head home so we can be with our dog when the city does its firework display. Probably watching a great movie with a glass of wine and fresh strawberries.
Maybe with a side-trip to the range to shoot some rifles in the morning.

Visiting friends for the long weekend in the Poconos. We will be rafting, bike riding, swimming, and eating heartedly for 3 days.

hopefully getting engaged!!!!

I hear you, this stinks! My poor daughter''s soccer camp at Rice U was a disaster this week. I was actually considering braving the crowds this year for Freedom over Texas but I don''t believe the weather will cooperate.

Im using the 4th as an excuse to make a cake decorated like the flag with raspberries and blueberries.

Its the only time I can get away with it, so I jump at the chance. We will probably BBQ some burgers and corn, and just watch the fireworks from our backyard. We live close to a couple places that do displays, so its nice to avoid the traffic around here, and be lazy at home.

DH and I took the kids to Newport for a long visit with my family. Beautiful weather here but I''m worried about flooding in Houston.

Clam bake will be the highlight with family and friends... It''s been a great time and the weather is amazing.

Aw man I was in America once for the fourth of July, it was a blast. Big party on the beach, BBQ''s and fireworks...have a great time my American friends!

My mother-in-law''s birthday is on the 4th, we have a cookout every year with the hubby''s family.

what time should i be there?

I love the 4th! We''re going to FI''s family BBQ tomorrow and another BBQ at my friend''s house on the 4th. And then fireworks, of course. We might shoot some off tomorrow and just watch the big show on Sunday.

Well, we're in Alabama and usually when I visit my family I want to leave before I get here, but it's been great. We're driving back to Atlanta tomorrow to spend a few days with Nate's family, and from there we're going to Martha's Vineyard.

I'm a little late but I spent the weekend with my 2 sisters and their kids and then went to a soccer game on Sunday with a friend of mine. Too bad there was a torrential downpour but it wasn't too bad!! My dh was out of town for a family reunion so I'm excited for him to get home tomorrow!! I was going to go but my boss sucks and wouldn't give me the extra day off; ohhhhh welll
