Social isolation has led to increased growth of the granny square. It’s just one square and I’ve gone around and around and around. Still a way to go for the Guinness Book of Records but I’m working on it. Arya is helping... not....2A15DA3B-8D64-4C71-80A3-BE86F94B3CC9.jpegD9F90A82-3B9F-44F2-8A87-ADF244A204D9.jpegD2A413E0-2498-4B7B-8AEB-422AF8DB2756.jpeg

I’ve been reading up on some journals by the GIA, Journal of Gemology, Renee Newman and even Christie’s experts on Jadeite topics. I’ve pretty much looked through the jewelry that’s in the house cataloguing and thinking of what’s in the bank safety deposit box. Helped fund raise to donate PPE’s, Masks, and Acrylic Boxes to frontliners, I’ve also morbidly gone through my belongings cataloguing and indicating value and history just in case I perish in the pandemic and my family decides to divide my belongings or go through auction. Posting and commenting in PS has helped me in diverting my attention as well as keep me sane by giving me a chance to communicate with others. Facetime with family and friends at night.

How close are you to beating the record???

I bought myself this beauty for a song when I realized I wouldn't be working for a bit. I took lessons as a child, so no time better than now to get reacquainted. The driveby is my sweetest Lola.

I am going to do some simple cross stitch soon.
Drew a rainbow cross stitch design using Excel as the one I bought is a bit small.
Need to get the bits and pieces for it.
I shall also start making the Christmas cards for this year when one of the major components arrive later this month, and the design will involve a lot of work.
These are on top of practicing my clarinet. I am very pleased to have upgraded from my cheapo instrument to a professional one about a month before lockdown, as the latter is so much better in many ways, and a joy to play.

DK :))

You reminded me of an auction purchase I made many years ago. Like you I enjoy a bit of cross stitch and while not in the market as such for a tapestry canvas, at a General Auctions waiting for a lot I was interested in, a tapestry was held up. Opening bid $20. Any interest? I won’t take any less. Silence. Knowing these pre printed ones are expensive I put up my paddle. Sold. $20. Yay.
After the end I went to pick up my successful lots and a rolled bundle was given to me. The lot wasn’t 1 tapestry canvas, it was like 40 of them. Heavens. I’ve given at least a dozen away and still have 30 or more upstairs in the attic.
I’ll get them down, maybe you’d like one or three! Free, just shipping once the world becomes Normal ha ha.

@Bron357 thanks for your kind offer, however, I just bought some more kits to keep me going for a while, thanks.

DK :))

Working out
including Reformer Pilates, free weights, elliptical

Playing board and card games with my dh

Enjoying the cats, taking videos and playing with them

Reading books

Chatting on the phone (no video so far) with friends and family

Listening to music much of the time. All kinds. From Frank Sinatra to Portishead to Stone Roses to Billie Holiday.

Dancing like a crazy person haha. I love dancing and am not afraid to break out in dance when the song moves me.

Reflecting on life and the human condition. I try to keep this to a minimum when it starts overwhelming me but sometimes it calms me.

Hahaha yes me too. I am eating much more than usual and eating chocolate which I never did before. :lickout:

Wait....you don’t eat chocolate?? I have a killer sweet tooth and I just can’t imagine a world where I don’t eat chocolate. Plain old Hershey’s milk chocolate is my favorite (though, now I’m thinking about chocolate and caramel...mmmm). I wish I liked dark chocolate. At least then I could say I was eating it for my health.

The kitties are not displeased we are here 24/7.
Spending some (a good amount of lol) time taking pics and videos of the furry babies. They don't seem to mind. :wink2:

Well I recently discovered vegan chocolate as I cannot have dairy (or gluten) so that was a happy find. Though not sure what it might be doing to my health right now I am enjoying it. I mean it helps give me strength to go on . JK. I think. And I do love dark chocolate. That is my fave. Add peanut butter and OMG I am in heaven but I am not having PB as it doesn't agree with me. That's OK I am not suffering re finding yummy food to eat. Let's hope we can all continue finding what we need and want for the most part.

Gosh, I just love them all! Those sweet faces.

Thanks @elle_71125 I am more than happy to share the love and if you are interested I would be thrilled to give you Oliver and Gracie.8) It is quite a handful having these 2 in addition to our special needs Tommy and Bobby. Oy to the vey. I think this is it for cats for me. Not kidding. I love them but I am too old for this. Gracie and Oliver would eat like a horse if I let them. And the second I give them food they ravenously swallow it whole. Like they haven't eaten just a little while before. I mean if I don't move my hands fast enough they would eat those too. #rationingthemNOT

And please, do let me know if you want them. Though I did give Jimmianne first dibs. Yoohoo @Jimmianne please don't forget your promise...
:cheeky:

They are sweet though. When they aren't eating.

Cooking, walking, sleeping, enjoying a fire outside a couple of nights, zooms with family, phone calls with friends. That's about it. I have lots more to do but that's where I am.

I'm working more.Actually have to work today to get a deadline piece done because I don't have enough time during the week to do it.

Sewing masks by night. I cut 50 yesterday, I completed 8 by 2am (I'm a little tired) My neices facility reached out to me to outfit the nurse and aids (and why is she still visiting my mom and dad is another story, I'm trying to stay out of that, not my house....I can only figure they have a freaking death wish at this point.)

I don’t envy you with not one but TWO young cats. That’s a lot of work! I’ve got my one new cat, Bandito (Antonio Banderas), and he’s a whole boatload of work.
So. Much. Energy! Plus, he’s such a messy eater. Half the food ends up on the floor. Is it really that hard to keep food in the bowl? Still, I love my wild cat and I’m so lucky to have him.

I'm finally able to read. I finished 2 murder mysteries last week. It really helps my stress levels and keeps my screen time down.

I'm still working my land surveying job but I have had my hours slashed, it's given me some time to do stuff I've been meaning to do but haven't had the time; reassemble my boat and get it ready to sell, tidy up at my dad's place where we are currently living while we figure out what to do about our next move with buying a lot of land to build on. I've also spent some time working on my social media reach for my Opal business, however with the current world pandemic I am wondering if that might be a bit of a waste of time.

Still doing caregiving fulltime but inbetween doing a lot of reading (mostly fiction e-books) .. lately I've been doing some coloring, both via coloring book and Crayola crayons and via iPad paint-by-number app ... more baking ... and I've pulled out my crochet project bag but haven't actually opened it up yet.

Bandito is a beautiful baby.❤️
Well, if you take Oliver and Gracie I promise you will have no food to clean off the floor. Or anywhere else. They literally eat it all no matter where it is. :sun:

I'm an OR nurse, but have decided to upskill in case I need to be redeployed to ICU if the crisis gets really bad in Australia. I'm currently on long service leave as I have no childcare, as hubby is still working as normal. I'm part way through an online critical care course, and although it's time consuming and tricky with small kids, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Plus it's a very good opportunity to brush up on a lot of knowledge (and keep my bored brain active!) while I'm not working.

Heaps of Zoom sessions with collegues, friends and family, which has actually been really fun. The kids and I have done lots of craft, baking, and walks around the neighbourhood. Thousands of people in my city are putting teddy bears in their front windows, so families can go on 'bear hunts'.

This quiz. I only scored 15/20.

Loved the quiz @JPie and I got 15/20 too. LOL it was challenging.

It's the eyes. Most of the older pics show more wrinkles around the eyes. And his face lost weight as he aged. Mine too. :((

He does look darn good with each decade. It's gotta be genetic. Plus no smoking and protection from the sun too. Just my guess.

Stay at home equals to working from home for me. I feel like I am busier now that I am working from home.

In addition, our 10 month old daughter is keeping us on our toes.

Working from home too but being less productive because I'm so distracted.

I seem to be focusing my energy into buying things. Having a good supply gives me a peace of mind, so I'm constantly looking for ways to order what I think we need. Last week it was groceries because I wanted to stop leaving the house to buy them. This week so far is vegetable seedlings since I don't want to go to Home Depot just for them.

I tell myself accumulating things I'm worried won't be available later a smart thing to do, but DH would argue I'm simply stress shopping :???:

You brought up a good point. I too “stress shopping”. Mainly for the baby so she won’t run out of diapers, wipes and milk.

all shopping, stress motivated or not, should be a good thing. Sooner or later, you would need the stuff. It always is a good feeling when you want something and that something is in the pantry, for example.
