What an appraisal actually means..

I have 3 appraisals on 1 diamonds. The range on the value goes from 10,000 to 25,000. All of these appraisers graded the diamond the same- same size, clarity and color. All appraisals are from GG's.
Do I just take the middle value?

Strange enough. What are those supposed to be used for? Insurance? Resell? Judging a price? Small town gossip ?

There would be one kind of appraisal good for each. So... why not keep all three
