Thought I''d start a new one b/c the other one was old..

How''s the advanced search function coming along? Is it close to being ready to use? Site seems to be working well, would be nice to be able to whittle down the selections with the advanced restrictions.

I like the new logo BTW - I don''t think I mentioned that before.

I think I noticed a place on WF's site where the HCA is mentioned.

How about listing the diamond's HCA score with all the other specs?
Or perhaps the plan, rather, is to encourage the brand-thinking - like an ACA is an ACA is an ACA.

I like how you can select a few to compare, and then it lists specs side by side.
How about also displaying the IS pics side by side?

I also like the new logo a lot, but I'm not sure I would have chosen brown as the main color on a diamond website.

Overall, I like the new site!

one thing that bugs about the new website is that it''s so hard to navigate!! it seems like it''s much harder to find things that before seemed simple. like that diamonds of africa pendant and info page? randomly found it after clicking on like 10 different things. the navigation is not intuitive for the user IMO.

also, the other thing that is seriously driving me nuts is that when you search for expert selection it does not just limit the search to in house diamonds. and if you think that 4 stars means in house like i did, after seeing it bring up 20 diamonds and only 2 had 4 stars, i thought oh those are the in-house ones....well that doesn''t seem to be the case since when i click on the cert it says it''s not in house or a picture hasn''t been taken. i wish they would add something that says ''this is an inhouse diamond'', isnt that what ES was all about anyway?

anyway it''s been frustrating because i like to keep an eye on WF''s inventory as in in-house stones that are literally cherry picked but i have seen a bunch on the site that are not up to snuff that seem virtual but have the cherry sign. and there''s no indicator on in-house that i can find. driving me batty.

it''s tough to do a redesign...because you can never please all parties and people always like elements of the old site better...but hopefully things are still being tweaked to make this a better site for the long-term. i don''t know how many more times i can try to find an ES diamond and be frustrated and NOT JUST SNAP!

I love the new logo.

But the banner at the top of PS is too dark, IMHO. Can you make it brighter, or lighten it up??

this is soooooo frustrating to me.
i don''t need a new diamond, i should not even be looking for a new diamond but i do and i am.

on the old site it was very easy to navigate. i went into the ''es'' section and perused all of the es diamonds. i knew i was in ''es'' and all i was looking at were es diamonds. NOW.....i go to ''es'' and try (my ten billion) different combinations that i think i might be interested in but i get bogged down with virtual diamonds that i have to sort through. for someone that really shouldn''t be looking at diamonds anyway, they are making it harder for me to search when i shouldn''t be searching.

**note to those who sell anything**....make it EASY for your customers to buy something and you are more likely to make a sale.

The WF website does not work well for me. Not only is it hard to navigate, things blink, I click and nothing happens, boxes show up on top of things. I am on a Mac and have tried Safari, Netscape and Firefox. I think they are still working out the bugs. I wish they showed more rings, custom pieces especially. I do like the new logo. The white on brown is harder to read but overall it looks nice.

Thanks for the comments. Feedback here continues to be helpful.

Here are some answers:

1. You will get ES-only diamonds if, from the Diamonds page, you do Step 1 (enter parameters) then click one of the ES options. But then if you change parameters at the top of the results page it starts including virtual stones. This is being fixed. For now you must page back to the Diamonds page and change parameters in Step 1 again. Sorry for the inconvenience. This is not an issue with ACA searches.

2. We are still in-process on the Advanced search feature and having the ES search still return ES-exclusive selections after changing things on the results page. The programmers understand these requests are priorities.

3. Any in-house diamond is identified as “Item Available – ready to ship” under the price. Those located with a supplier indicate “Call for Availability.” I hope this is helpful.

4. The HCA is a great tool which we support as intended; to identify candidates with potential and reject others on a broad scale. We discuss and link to the HCA as part of our Cut Analysis tutorial. While globally useful, it’s not intended to influence decisions between closely matched diamonds.

5. IS photos side by side would be thumbnail-size or smaller. Would that still be useful, do you think?

6. Navigating: If you were used to the old site I understand how it may seem harder, but there are actually less steps now.

To find Dreams Of Africa from the main page:

click Diamond Jewelry
click Extraordinary Pieces
click Dreams Of Africa

or

select ‘Diamond Pendants’ from the drop down
click Search ...all pendants are returned (Dreams Of Africa is the last pendant)

It has been interesting to see the difference in opinions on ease-of-use. Several people have found the new site harder to navigate, but the overwhelming feedback is that navigability is improved. This was the intent; diamond searches proceed from a single master page now, intended to be less confusing for new shoppers. It’s similar with the jewelry drop-down. Predictably, those who prefer the new site are newer clients.

Thanks for all the comments. We continue to listen and many suggestions have been useful.

thanks sir john. it''s good to know the feedback is being considered.
as far as overall navigation, it''s just different. those of us who are used to the old site are probably going to be fumbling around for awhile before it seems ''easier''. as long as i don''t have to work to keep virtual stones out of my searches, i''ll be happy.

keep up the good work!

Swingirl,

We're sorry for the inconvenience. Mac users have been successful using the most recent Safari, but have had trouble with older versions.

The information below helped a prior mac user - I don't know if it's applicable for you. Let us know if you continue to have problems, and with which version of Safari.

Safari 1.2 Help

Webpages aren't working

If features of webpages don't seem to work, you may have turned off the use of plug-ins, Java, or JavaScript, or you may have set Safari to block pop-up windows.

Choose Preferences from the Safari menu and click Security. Make sure that the checkboxes to use plug-ins, Java, and JavaScript are selected and that the "Block pop-up windows" checkbox is not selected.

If your Security preferences are set this way and the page doesn't work, choose Report Bugs to Apple from the Safari menu to report the problem.

If you open webpages that you trust, then allowing pages to use plug-ins, Java, and JavaScript will not risk the security of your computer.

You may now change parameters at will on the results page, click ''find'' and continue to return from the category initially searched (exception: ES Rounds, but this will be adjusted soon). We also improved the drop-down menu on the results page. ACA or ES can be selected separately from global searches in that menu now.

2. We are still in-process on the Advanced search feature and having the ES search still return ES-exclusive selections after changing things on the results page. The programmers understand these requests are priorities.

ES-exclusive selections solved.
Advanced search almost ready - should be up this week.
Cheers.
