Hi all, I have found a beautiful 2 carat virtual diamond and I am trying to figure out who to have call it in. I was thinking about WF, BG, GOG, and IDJ. I think it's best to get the stone from the place where I will ultimately purchase the setting, so after looking around, am trying to narrow it down between WF's sleekline legato and BG's truth setting. I am looking for a elegant and dainty looking tapered band with a 4 prong setting. I will also get a shared prong wedding band to pair it with. Since it's hard to tell when I can't view them in front of me, which of the two settings do you prefer? Many thanks!!!

I vote the elegance, then legato then truth. But I would also suggest Vatche Caroline.

Both companies are great, I adore the Lattice Thin Comfort Shank from BGD. The view from the side is so elegant, clean, feminine: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/e...ice-thin-comfort-shank-18k-white-gold-5681w18

Of the two I prefer the BGD, but both are lovely.

I also like many Vatche settings, but to be honest, PSers recent experience, coupled with a good friend's experience with her ring, have made me wary to suggest them, as the recourse to have it fixed just isn't what it should be (in my opinion, of course.)

I agree with this. I'm unimpressed by their customer service and their quality control.

My vote is for nararabbits posting of the BGD Lattice solitaire - that is light, 'airy', feminine, yet solid at the same time. You can see the beautiful fluidity of movement on their lattice work... ah... *THIS* would be what I'd recommend. A classic with a modern edge to it and somewhat more unique than the other suggestions.

(Good call nararabbit!)

1) Vatche Caroline (Good Old Gold or WhiteFlash carry the brand)...I think it is just a nicer setting. Vatche has an excellent reputation and I think recent purchases by Bliss, sna, my daughter, and myself and others would happily testify to the very fine quality!

2) Legato Sleekline

(I am pretty sure that Lattice Solitaire is going to have a wider shank than any of the others mentioned, and I think there could be an issue of diamonds from the wedding band hitting part of that lattice the way it looks in the picture.)

Who are you talking about aside from Ame? Jrich's ring wasn't high enough for her and they took it back and made it very high like she asked. I haven't seen anything negative from Bliss or sna who set 2 ct+ diamonds in Vatche rings, or ltk08, or from mine or my daughter's. Those are all the recent ones I can think of (other than blueiris who hasn't posted pictures yet, and she said she loves hers). My ring is better quality than the one I had from Leon! Just wondering what recent experience you are referring to?

Another vote for BGD Lattice.

hmm, thanks for the input everyone, all the suggestions are lovely, and I had a second look, and am still debating between the BG truth or WF sleekline legato

Diamondseeker, is there a reason why you prefer the legato over the truth? The Legato is 2.5mm and tapers in at 1.35, the truth is 2.5mm tapering into 1.8mm - so maybe the Legato is thinner and looks a bit more delicate, which is what I would like?

I have just always felt that the Legato sleekline was dainty and elegant and one of the best 4 prong solitaires. I think it looks a little more fluid and less bulky than the Truth, although I think the differences would be less in person than in magnified images. You can't really go wrong but I would buy the Legato for myself.

I definitely prefer the Sleekline over the Truth.

I like the Elegance or the Lattice best; those are both very elegant and classic!
