Hi gals!

I love the WF scattered diamond band:

http://www.whiteflash.com/wedding-bands/scattered-diamond-wedding-band-234.htm

However, my dilemma is, will the 4mm width look too masculine? In your opinion, is 4mm width in a band too masculine for a woman to wear? 3mm is the safer bet for a woman's band, but I do have fairly long fingers so I think I could pull 4mm off. Still torn though, as I don't want it to look like a man's band. Thank you for your thoughts!! :wavey:

I like the 4mm a lot - the scatter looks more deliberate :sun:
I don't think it'd look too masculine at all! The scatter polka dot pattern is super cute and feminine ::)

I'm wondering, if you have long fingers --- would you consider the 5mm band?? that seems very impressive! It is a stand alone band, random looking placement of the gypsy set diamonds and would be wonderful on long fingers!!

The 3mm looks possibly too delicate in that comparison photo.

I tried on the 4mm Tiffany Etoile. I loved it! My finger is on the short side and 4mm was perfect. It did not come close to looking too wide.

These are mine! I bought it from our very own Forte Kitty and I believe she said it's 3mm. I actually just got a rose gold 3.5 mm band from e-Wedding Bands today and I love the width. I think 4 mm with the scattered diamonds would be a great standalone look.

You have great taste LS! Love your pieces! What width/ctw/melee size is your eternity band in the pic?

Thanks! The eternity band is 1.16 ctw and they are 5 pointers. I think it's around 2.5 or 2.5 mm?

Ditto, ditto! You always have great taste, Logan! The 3mm really looks nice stacked.

Thanks, Yssie! Good point about it looking more deliberate, I hadn't thought about that.

Thanks, Enerchi! 5mm might be too much, even though I do love me a good chunky band. Ellen pulls it off well in her thread, but I'm thinking 4mm might be best for me.

Thank you, NonieMarie! Good to know. Is the Etoile knife edge or is it round like the WF one?

I'm pretty sure this kind of band can never be re-sized, due to the design. That's my only hesitation. My finger size has changed a lot in the last 5 years. :???: Would you just order it a little loose and hope for the best?

I had the Tiffany Etoile band that was 4 mm. It was not too thick as a stand alone band but I will say that it had a high rounded curve on the top so probably didn't look quite 4 mm. There are usually lots of them preloved on ebay! The Tiffany version really feels like butter on the finger!

The picture in this listing shows what I mean by highly rounded: http://www.ebay.com/itm/TIFFANY-CO-ETOILE-PLATINUM-DIAMONDS-BAND-RING-SIZE-5-1-2-RETAIL-2-450-/140840691904?pt=US_Fine_Jewelry&hash=item20cac268c0

as opposed to the WF version: http://www.whiteflash.com/wedding-bands/scattered-diamond-wedding-band-38.htm

I much prefer the Tiffany version for basically the same price. . .

There is not an edge on it, smooth as silk. Because of the high dome and rounded edges, it does not appear too wide.

I had the 3mm and loved it! The 4mm is the original etoile size. If this is your stand alone piece on your ring finger, I think the 4mm would be beautiful. Can you go try on 3mm and 4mm rings in a nearby store? I didn't want the width of the 4mm because I had stacked it with other rings, but even alone, the 3mm was a great width. I wish I hadn't sold it but after my weight loss, it wouldn't fit anymore! Boo.

If you order, I expect LOTS of photos!! :cheeky:

I had a 4 mm scattered band and it was just right. The scatter showed up well and it had enough presense on my short stubby fingers without looking masculine.

Laila, here is my new 3.5mm ring- I think a 4mm would be substantial as a standalone for sure!

LS, is the scattered band you bought from Forte Kitty from Whiteflash?

Laila, if you are not going to stack I'd do the 4mm. If you think you may ever want to stack I'd do the 3mm. Are you going for the white gold or plat version?

Lizzyann-

No, it's not from WF. I think she said she'd bought it from someone who'd had it custom made.

Laila, I'd order the slightly larger size and then have sizing beads put in. If you are thinking due to heat or potential weight changes in the future, the beads can be removed and re installed as needed.

Sounds like the 4mm is your sweet spot! It will look perfect as a stand alone AND allow you to stack something with it... oh... hey... here's a thought --- maybe you NEED a new stacker to go with it... Just sayin'!! ;)) (ya, I know - 1-800-WE-ENABLE at your service!! )
