I''m still contemplating an upgrade of diamond and setting. I''ve really been looking at a J stone. Color hasn''t bothered me when I''ve looked at a J in person, but that was in fairly jewelry-store specific lighting conditions.
I''ve been thinking that, since a superbly-cut J should face up very white, but the body may show some tint from the side, I might be playing it safe with a setting that obscures the body of the stone. I have recently been looking at the White Flash bezel halo. I''ve never had a halo ring before, and while they sparkle like mad in the jewelry store, I don''t know anyone in real life who has one, either, so I haven''t seen it in the real world.
I''m also accustomed to seeing the side profile of my diamond. I like how clear it is from the side. I''ve also heard that letting light enter from the pavillion can increase brilliance, and worry that a bezel setting will interfere with that.
Does anyone have the WF setting I''m looking at? Any similar bezel halos? Any thoughts on these issues?
