WF engagement band question

Quick question on an engagement band at whiteflash...

classic tiffany 6 prong is $600 for platinum.. ok.
tiffany knife edge 6 prong is $1,200 for platinum.. eh?
why does the knife edge cost double?

any ideas?

The similar names are a bit misleading. The rings are quite different. The head of the classic tiffany knife edge is very different than the non-knife edge tiffany setting. The work that goes into the head on the knife edge is more "involved" I believe. I own the classic tiffany knife edge, previously I had the BN 6 prong (similar to the standard tiffany setting on WF), the look of the rings/heads just doesn't even compare. The price difference IS substantial, so if you don't prefer the knife edge head then by all means don't spend double if you don't notice a difference really. To me they aren't even similar looks.

so the diff is only in the head?

are the bands different? i.e. is the "knife edge" thinner?

The bands are different, too. The knife edge band rises to a point all around and the other is smooth.
