Wedding Funds

So, my mom called me today to tell me about this show called Rock the Reception that she loves. Then of course she asked when BF and I were planning on marrying. I told her it looks like sometime in 2010, and her response was "that''s so far away". I said, I know, but a., we''re not engaged yet and b., weddings are expensive and we need to save money!

She then said, "Well, you dad and I will have to think about how we can help with the costs so you can push the date up". I''m not going to get too excited but

We were planning on paying for everything ourselves, so that would be a HUGE help if my parents were able to kick in a bit. Still too early for the real, down to details talk but just knowing it''s on my parents radar is a great feeling!

I have seen that show and FFI and I would love to do a little dance at our reception. FFI did break dance at one point in his life so every once in a while he will bust out a move or two.

He is 35.......not getting any younger dear! But he enjoys it and I just enjoy watching him make a fool out of himself.

How awesome!!! First of all, 2010 isn''t that far away - I mean, we''re 27 days from 2009. Second, what an awesome surprise from your mom! It can be sooo stressful thinking about the money for your wedding and kind of like you, my BF and I are expecting to pay nearly all of it. My mom emailed me a coupla months ago and said she wants to buy my dress, and in another recent email she said she wasn''t vacationing next year b/c she is "saving for my wedding." So, who knows if that means dress or dress + more? Anyway, I hear ya! Gotta love those little financial surprises
