Hello all! Early last fall I posted a "not yet set" version of my 3 stone ring that now fiance gave me before Christmas when we got engaged. The picture was crazy because the stones were just sort of "plopped" onto a setting for me to start getting a feel for the proportions that I wanted. Ultimately we came up with a 3 stone trellis setting that's pretty sturdy. The diamonds are about 1.65 ct RB in the center with .5 RB sidestones. Initially, I was lured by the sales person to consider 2 curved bands on either side because it gave it this blingy tapered look that I liked. Not so much anymore. Depending on budget, I want to go with either an eternity band or semi-eternity. I've tried on very thin delicate bands, but they almost slide under the spread of the stone when placed next to the setting (it's not perfectly flush, but I don't really care). I love the look of .06 pointers in a band, but am just not sure. Anyone have any advice or guidance or some sort of "proportion formula" as to what size band looks best with certain sized stones? I'm so lost, and the fiance is NOT amused by my wishy-washy-ness!

Re: Wedding Band w/ 3 Stone

Pictures would prob be helpful. Camera is at large, so this is with the phone. Tried to get in good lighting but it just looks like it is glaring in the sun! Bottom line, though, the setting is fairly thick and I don't want a band that "gets lost" in the mix.

BEAUTIFUL ring Magnolia!!!

I have 8 x .12's on my 1/2 eternity band from IDJ that I wear with a RG spacer along with my (NEW!!) PR 3 stone. I like the .12's as they are large enough to be worn alone, and not too overwhelming with my stones (.50/1.06/.51 - I think??).

Are you aiming to bling it out (go BIG or go home!) or are you wanting your Ering to be the main focus - keep the wband diamonds smaller??

What have you tried on with it so far, any .10's?? With your centre being as big bold and beautiful as it is, I think that would work if you want the more subdued look, but if you are going for WOW factor - would you consider up to .20's??? YUM!

I don't know if there is a formula - probably others with more experience will chime in - but what about contacting Luann at IDJ and asking for her input - she could send you pics in an email as well... Just a thought!

Good luck!
