So I''m sitting here watching WE and Platinum Weddings is on. Do and any pricescopers know anyone who''s been on that show? I have always wondered what these people do for a living!!! The bride had a 2ct princess solitaire on a micropave setting, which I assume is platinum (they said the cost was $40K). She then went in for her wedding jewelry, which they IMPLIED the groom bought, but since they never said it, I wonder if it was borrowed for the show! Anyway she got an 11ct tennis necklace, 6ct tennis bracelet and about 3 ct diamond and pearl earrings. In true Pricescope fashion, I was thinking hmm I would have foregon the necklace and gotten a 5ct ring.... Maybe it''s just me though :)

Lol. In the last few years I''ve started building my jewelry collection. I actually like having a various pieces. Don''t think I would give any of them up and put the money towards a larger stone. But yea, I''m not thinking in the true PS fashion

I totally drool over the jewelry on that show - one girl got the most GORGEOUS antique pieces, they were just spectacular

The weddings themselves are pretty amazing too...

I looove that show... and I wish that I could live their lives for them! Do any of them need an adopted sister?

I love that show...I think some of it is borrowed and not bought for their personal collection.

I think one of the episodes had a real estate developer from Fl on there and one had a producer of some sort.

I have a feeling that a lot of them have rich parents. It''s very rare that a 25 year old would be making enough money to afford a $500k wedding no matter how good their career. I have friends in finance who made well over $100k in their first year and they would agree that they can''t even afford a $500k wedding.

In a way I wish I could have a beautiful wedding like the people on the show, but I can also think of much better ways to spend the money. I would ask my parents to just buy me a ridiculously nice house for that much and maybe limit the wedding to $50-100k or something.

I don''t watch the show often, but I did notice when I saw it a couple of times that they advertised the jeweller (were sure to include the jewellers name and even a shot of the outside of the building), which made me think that the jeweller was letting them borrow the jewels in return for some advertising. I don''t think that it is all borrowed...I''m sure in most cases the parents or the couple is buying it, but I definitely got the feeling that it was sometimes borrowed.

I like bridezillas... makes me feel more... docile.
